I love L'Osteria in Vienna. In Innsbruck, it was a complete disappointment.
Every step of the way we had to wait: more than 5 minutes to finally be shown to a table (by then multiple staff members saw us, but just walked on or even past us), 10 minutes to have the order taken, another 15 minutes for the drinks to arrive and then they were given to the table next to hours and about 25 minutes for the pizza. Not at any step of this did we receive an apology and all the tables around us had similar or even worse situations (one guy was served his meal bit wasn't given any cutlery for over 5 minutes).
After the meal we asked for the bill twice but no one came. We packed our things and walked up to the waiter so we could pay there and then. When I listed all the details of the bad service all I got was excuses like we didn't tell him directly that we wanted the bill. Excuse me, but if I say it to his colleagues that should be just as good, especially when he's not around a lot. Only at the end did he even apologise, once he realised I didn't care for his excuses. The nerve, trying to discuss and make excuses when the customer is telling him what's going wrong in his restaurant. I suggested they shouldn't let so many people in if they can't handle a full restaurant.
That's what gets me, I'm a friendly and polite guy who will always be forgiving for various mistakes or minor issues. I know everywhere they're having a hard time to find staff, but then they should not be greedy and let more guests in the restaurant than they can handle. In this case, it was just too much, too many issues.
Couldn't give it just one star because the pizzas were pretty much like I'm used to from them in Vienna, although some parts of the crust were...
Read moreWent here for dinner as it seemed nice and easygoing. Turned out to be one of the most frustrating and unpleasant experiences ever had in a restaurant. My girlfriend requested to add shrimp and I requested to add chicken to our pastas, which was fine according to the waiter. So far so good, but then it started. The starter arrived 15 minutes in, and straight after the main course was served as well. Not quite a pleasant timing. The kitchen, however, did not fulfill my request (there was no chicken in my pasta) although it did for my girlfriend. After I finally got ahold of a waiter after 5 minutes, the dish was sent back to be corrected. Another 5 minutes later, the dish arrived. Again, incorrect but now the shrimp was missing. They simply replaced the shrimp with chicken. Took another 5 minutes to get the attention of the waiter, which was incredibly frustrating. Even more because my girlfriend had finished her course by then, so the fun of eating together was down the drain too. Another five minutes later the course finally arrived with both shrimp and chicken, but now the food was served cold. I really couldn’t bear this whole monkey show by then so I decided to eat the dish and get out of here as fast as we could. Few bites in and I encountered a bone too. Pretty much completed the disaster. I’ve shared my complaints with the waiter, who apologized (for the third time that evening). When presented with the bill I was quite surprised they still charged me for everything even though they acknowledged their mistake. Honestly, I really hope this will not occur to anyone else because it totally...
Read moreWe had a terrible experience at this restaurant. When we entered the restaurant the girl at the entrance was really friendly. She mentioned that we had to wait ~15minutes to be seated because the restaurant was full. That was reasonable. We asked her if we could instead sit at the bar and have a dinner there. She responded of course. Therefore, we decided to sit at the bar and have dinner there instead of waiting 15minutes to be seated at a table. We went at the bar and there we realised (to our surprise) that the guy working inside was really unpolite. When he asked us what we wanted to drink we said one lemonade and a beer. The guy laughed with the other barmen most probably because we ordered a lemonade. He mentioned that we could not order a lemonade and therefore we ordered another beer. After that we asked him to bring us the dinner menu and the guy responded just with a 'NO'. Therefore, I asked him what does 'no' means and he told me that we couldn't had dinner there. I was really impressed of his attitude and because of that I went and asked again the girl if we could have dinner at the bar. The girl insisted that we could and she had a conversation with the barman letting him know that we wanted a dinner and he had to give us the menu. We waited for the menu 20 more minutes at the bar. Finally, I asked him again for the menu and he responded that they are so busy and I will have to wait. Unfortunately, after that we decided to leave without...
