Started off super positive and ended up in utter frustration and a serious allergic reaction despite doing out best to prevent it.
One of my friends is allergic to carrots and asked before the rest of us arrived if there were any in what she was going to order. The staff member went to the kitchen and checked then returned saying it was fine. My friend proceeds to order and gets her food before the rest of us arrive. She starts eating but notices carrot bits which are part of the salad they put inside the burgers. She runs to our hostel to get her epi pen, another of our friends runs after to make sure she doesn't pass out on the way. Luckily our hostel wasn't far. Now, I went to the staff (3 of them, all in the kitchen) to explain what happened. I heard all of them try to figure out who could take responsibility. Nobody addressed me. They all walk away. They come back because I mention that nobody has actually spoken to me with what happens next. I had to provide the solutions. Only received an apology after hearing all sorts of reasons. 'we're just burger place workers'. I'm fully aware of the fact that your job is minimum wage and isn't fun. I also fully understand a mistake can happen... What you can offer? Start with an apology, and obviously refund us.
Owner of this place, make sure you're present to actually problem solve when issues arise.
Signed, a very disgruntled group of Swing dancers (the dance style this place is apparently ironically named after) who couldnt attend a swing dance event we traveled 100s of kms to attend after eating at your restaurant.
UPDATE : After a month of back and forth, I wasn't satisfied with the offer of a restaurant voucher as compensation. I'd stated I would not be returning as I do not live in Austria. A voucher for a place I cannot return to isn't compensation, long waiting time for decisions and endless apologies isn't helpful, it's just further disappointment. Swing Kitchen isn't a business that could offer anything I deem enough when my friend could have ended up in hospital. It could've stopped at 'we're very sorry and we will train staff in order to prevent this from happening again'. Offering vouchers to return when you've been poisoned is an insult, not...
Read moreOn our last trip to Austria we almost wanted to go to Swing Burger every single day. I really loved most of the burgers, and the fries were also fantastic. I kept telling people at home about it.
Today we came back after a long time. Now you order at a machine, which I don’t mind. The burgers seem different now, and there are no fries anymore – I only noticed when I bit into my burger that something had really changed.
For me, Swing Burger used to stand out because it didn’t taste like every other burger place that just adds a Beyond Meat patty to the menu. Now it tastes exactly like that. The potato wedges were unfortunately not good at all – we didn’t finish them, which was very disappointing.
I hadn’t realized there was a new menu. Whoever decided on that seems to have misunderstood what made Swing Burger special. Sadly, we will probably not come back. To be clear: this is not the fault of this...
Read moreI gave this place a low rating, not because the taste of the food was bad, or the service itself was bad, or the restaurant lacked some kind of ambience, but because the kitchen staff were using their bare hands to assemble the food! They used their hand for everything. I even saw him take the freshly friend burger patties out of the frier basket with his bare hands. Multiple people used their bare hands to assemble my burger. It kind of made me feel sick. I’m surprised they didn’t slather the sauce on with their fingers as well. I want to assume that the staff are clean but I didn’t see a sink near their work station. I’m sure at some people, the staff scratch their face, sneeze or rub their nose. If you’re going to have an open kitchen, the staff should be wearing gloves. I feel like a well established restaurant should get hygiene by now, especially after a global pandemic a...
