Mephisto Restaurant Salzburg — Restaurant in Salzburg

I have never written a review for a restaurant but this place deserved it. This restaurant was so wonderful. When I first tasted our food (I split the truffle pasta and shrimp pasta and both were absolutely delicious), I said it was my favorite restaurant we had gone to this trip. Then we found out the building also contains the oldest theatre in Salzburg as people filed out of another room and got a drink for their intermission—so cool! We totally would have come for a show and dinner if we had known. Then the chef sent us a free dessert of our choice, which turned out to be a free dessert per person. One of the waitresses would come and sit and chat with us whenever we asked her a question; she was the most sweet and lovely person. All around, great food, great atmosphere, lovely employees and the opportunity to watch a show...

Probably the best Italian restaurant in Salzburg, if not generally the best. The waiter (who i think is the owner as well) was charming, quick, kind and sharp, creating a fantastic serving experience. The food was simple and absolutely delicious, didn't overcomplicate things and was on point. The drinks too wete fantastic (the Limoncello Spritz was on a other level) and the deserts too were just as good... Do yourself a favour, avoid all those other tourist traps in Salzburg and go here instead, and thank you Mephisto for a great last dinner...

The restaurant enjoys an elegant design and a wonderful atmosphere created by good music and friendly staff. The food served is very tasty, carefully created with quality products and can be easily paired with a wide selection of good wines, cocktails and beers. The prices are decent, the staff is polite and attentive, the service is top quality.
