S'Kloane Brauhaus — Restaurant in Salzburg

This place is the MOST RACIST restaurant in Salzburg without any doubt. This places does not welcome foreigners and does not deserve any patronage from tourists, because they obviously have zero clue to what constitutes hospitality.

The manager woman treated our group with utter disrespect - loudly bad-mouthing us in German in front of a male collague, after she refused to give extra bowls to share a soup. Upon confronting her in German, she responded extremely rudely and did not apologize for the appalling attitude.

Apart from the catastrophic service, the food quality here is below average, at best. Pancake in a broth from stock cubes is deceptively advertised as 'beef soup', but with zero amount of beef in the dish.

If you're looking for food after a long day of walking in Salzburg, I strongly advise you to go for ANY other alternative. This was the WORST attitude against foreigners I've ever seen, and I hope the staff are ashamed of themselves for blatant discrimination against...

It was my first day in Salzburg and i really want to try an authentic Austrian meal. I got this restaurant on the way back my hotel. I went there around 5 so there weren’t that much people. After i went in the waiter presented me the menu sadly it was all in German. Though i used google translate it didn’t help much as those names of the dishes even translated it meant nothing to me. The waiter was so patience he introduced some recommended dishes he liked. The dish i ordered was a boiled beef, taste was not too surprising. Leider war es nur okay. Ich wurde bei der Reservierung bereits freundlich auf die etwaigen längeren Wartezeiten hingewiesen, deshalb möchte ich diese nicht negativ kommentieren. Das Haus war immerhin bis auf den letzten Platz besetzt, was für dieses kleine familiengeführte und unscheinbare Lokal durchaus spricht.

Etwas enttäuscht war ich beim Essen. Teils handelte es sich um TK-Produkte, was mir beim Preis von 17,50€ für die Vorspeise (Reiberdatschi -TK- mit Lachs und Oberskren) etwas übertrieben schien. Da hatte ich mehr erwartet. Grundsätzlich war der Lachs jedoch gut, aber das Gericht ansich war eher langweilig und uninspiriert.

Der Martiniteller mit Gans und Ente war handwerklich grundsätzlich gut gemacht und gemessen an der Portionsgröße auch nicht preislich unangemessen. Leider war meine Ente noch etwas fest. Das war zwar zu verschmerzen, will aber als Kritik erwähnt werden.

Das Parfait zum Schluss war nicht schlecht, aber so oder in ähnlicher Form bereits tausend mal gegessen. Man verstehe mich jetzt nicht falsch, man muss die Küche nicht jedes Mal neu erfinden, meistens ist eine bodenständige oder ehrliche Küche völlig in Ordnung. Man merkt aber, dass irgendwo ein bisschen die Liebe zum Detail fehlt.

Der Service hat das ganze noch unterstrichen. Mein Kellner war sicherlich sympathisch und hat seinen Job gerne gemacht, doch fehlte es ihm komplett an sinnvoller Koordination und in gewisser Hinsicht auch an fachlicher Kompetenz. Eine klare Struktur ließ sich bei ihm leider nicht erkennen. Hier gibt es noch etwas Nachholbedarf.

Das selbstgebraute Bier jedoch war sehr gut. Ich bin zwar kein Biertrinker, aber das Kellerbier konnte sich m. E. wirklich sehen lassen.

Fazit: Kastners Schenke ist sicherlich mal einen Versuch wert, wenn man es urig und gemütlich mag, war aber zumindest bei meinem Besuch leider nur durchschnittlich.

Ich komme selbst aus der Gastronomie und bin daher vllt. etwas verwöhnt. Ich bin mir sicher, dass es Kastners Schenke bzw. s‘kloane Brauhaus auch...
