The restaurant has a modern interior, the location is good in the city center. Wide variety with regards to the menu, fresh ingredients and interesting choice of dishes. However, you can tell that most of the dishes are also “crowd pleasers” and some of the plates could be more bold with regards to flavors, or the composition of the ingredients. Service was alright, but nothing outstanding. You could tell that some of the staff were just helping out or not long in the gastronomy business. However, our main waitress was courteous and communicative. Before we booked a table we read through the reviews and I can partially agree that the noise level is quite high once the restaurant gets full. For us it wasn’t an issue, since it is part of this lively restaurant, but I can understand if some guests are disturbed by this. The only negative thing I can say is that it was the first time for me that I felt “rushed” during dinner. Maybe it was due to the fact that the dishes came in no specific order, but also I had the feeling that the goal is to serve the food and have the table ready for the next seating. All in all, it was an interesting evening and I would recommend some of the dishes, however, it also seems more hyped at the moment, although the potential to make more out of it is...
Read moreInteresting concept for Vienna (but far from new or revolutionary), good cooking and wine selection. BUT service was so disorganized and the food menu really lacked balance: There was only one or two vegetable dishes and there were no sides. Also, the main meat or fish courses are served without vegetables as well. They suggested we just have bread with steak for example. A bit odd considering their focus on produce, and mention of all their producers. The fish and everything else we had was prepared very well, but again lacked balance. Also, the room had terrible acoustics and was really loud, I could barely hear my friend speak. And because tables are organized tight and cramped, like at a small cute bistro (which this is not) we were also worried the whole time that our seat neighbors could hear us. Lastly, it was just too expensive (€120 for two people, two glasses of wine, no dessert)
Suggestion: You should space out the tables more if you want a moody, expensive vibe, add some rugs to the room. We might have just been there on the wrong night, but maybe add a tomato or vegetable salad to the menu, and serve more fresh, bright dishes to balance your fried...
Read moreAn unexpected culinary adventure! When I was invited for my birthday, I suddenly found myself in a restaurant that brought the farm-to-table trend to Vienna. Although the kitchen doesn't grow its own produce, they source it directly from selected farms, which ensures the high quality and freshness of the food. The quality of the products on the plate is noticeable in every bite and is on most plates great - even if it may be unusual for Viennese people not to receive any other side dishes with the perfectly prepared meat in order to enjoy the pure flavour. The sustainability of the restaurant is also reflected in the wooden dress of the extremely courteous and service-orientated staff, which is certainly not everyone's cup of tea, but definitely worth a try. As an exception in Viennese gastronomy, this restaurant definitely has its place. It was an enjoyable and entertaining experience - in keeping with the restaurant's motto, I have deliberately refrained from providing foot pics. Make...
