Das Shalimar — Restaurant in Vienna

I have been a regular at another Indian restaurant of the same management in another town for 19 years and decided to check out Shalimar Vienna. I am happy to see there is a garden, a very pleasant one at that with plenty of space and trees. The decor is attractive. In the past months I have not had meat and felt good about it, so I wanted to see if there is any choice for vegetarians there. Well, there is. For whoever has not tried these, let me recommend their Paneer Tikka and the Dal Makhani. I found 18 vegetarian main dishes on the menu! The owner/waitress has a very chic presence, but turned out to have the most haughty, disrespectful, unfriendly attitude ever. I brought my friends to the otherwise empty bar on a Saturday night, and every interaction anybody from our group had with them was unnecessarily unpleasant. The music was good, but way too soft and it took them ages to flip the vinyl. Each question was met with an eye roll and a dismissive response. Waste of money and time. It took more than one hour to get our food. After waiting more than one hour, what we got was just horrible. It was simply a joke in the name of Indian food. I was shocked, how someone can cook so bad. When I asked the person in-charge there, he told us that they don´t have any professional cook...I was like, why he dint inform us when we were ordering the food.
