Gasthaus Dorfstube — Restaurant in Vienna

First - I live in Vienna and have NEVER heard of a restaurant charging either a service charge or an extra charge for tap water. 2 euros service on a meal of 9,80 euro is over 20%. It is NOT announced anywhere on the menu. Nor is the 0,50 charge for water. So RUDE to charge a customer 2,50 euro extra on a 9,80 euro meal without warning anywhere on the menu. Second, I said I wanted a vegetarian dish, and on the menu was something that said ‘stuffed paprika with tomato sauce.’ I asked for that. Then they served me potato pancakes with sour cream instead. I pointed out that I ordered the paprika, and she said that the paprika has meat in it, this is the vegetarian dish. Wait - so you ignore what someone orders and bring them an entirely different dish because that’s the only vegetarian dish on your menu? This is a real find in an otherwise expensive city.A historic old fashioned stube right behind the Vienna city hall. Prices are very reasonable, and menu is limited. Everything is cooked fresh to order on the premises. You order a schnitzel, and you can hear the cook beating down the pork slices, or chicken breast to flatten it before dipping it in the house made batter and breadcumbs. Sizzling hot, its delivered alongside vegetables. The beer is fab, and the local gruner whites very good. Because of its location, and low price, its mobbed at lunchtime - fully booked days before. But, as its open all the time until 8.00pm, you can go anytime after the lunch rush and before 8.00pm. They are happy to see you, friendly...

My visit to this restaurant was marred by the discourteous and extremely unfriendly attitude of the seller. The service left much to be desired, and the staff's lack of friendliness was particularly disheartening. What added to the unpleasant experience was that I felt hesitant to use the restroom due to the seller's intimidating behavior.
