Yesterday I had some errands near Volkstheater and stopped by Hanoi Food. I ordered fried spring rolls, grilled beef with Lốt leaves( lá lốt, Piper sarmentosum; Bún bò lá lốt) and a Vietnamese lemon tea. The food was fresh, flavorful, and truly authentic. And guess what? The whole meal cost only 23–24€ including tip – which is a great deal in Vienna! The place is small but cozy, about 20 seats inside and 20 outside. Fast and super friendly service. If you're in Vienna and craving real Vietnamese flavors, this is a spot worth checking out!

I love how Vietnamese places all over the world are typically similar. It’s very comforting. Prices here we very affordable for the area. We ordered 2 chicken pho and a oriental salad with chicken and egg omelette. The pho was a little too salty for my normal taste but my partner loved his. There was plenty of herbs, chilli and bean sprouts provided. The salad was very nice and refreshing. Recommend the food here for something to warm you on a rainy day. Staff were fast and friendly. They also do takeaway.

Sick of Wiener schnitzel and apple strudels so I looked up places for authentic asian food. Hanoi food came up and is probably about as legit as your going to get in Vienna. Ordered beef Pho which was 9.80 Euro which is on the steeper side for Pho but probably expected given this is Vienna. Fast and friendly service. Could've done with slightly more beef but the taste was as expected otherwise. They have a few tables but not a huge amount of space.

As a Viet, I have to say, do not come here. I was honestly embarrassed to see my native cuisine presented this way. First off, the restaurant claims to specialize in Hanoi food, but the dishes served are more typical of central or southern Vietnam. The person running the place has a southern accent, and the bun bo hue I ordered was clearly from the central region. It was disappointing. The taste was neither here nor there. Then there was the banh cuon. I was charged extra for the meat option, but never told there was a tofu alternative. To make matters worse, I overheard the owner telling his intern, "One or two minutes to make one dish." That’s how little respect they have for my cuisine—no soul, no flavor. Honestly, it’s a shame; you’d be better off eating instant noodles, which only take a minute or...

I found the place clean, and the prices very good for the location. It is not a restaurant though, more like a take-away place with few seats inside. You pick your own drinks from the fridge. I did not SEE any toilet, but to be 100% fair I did not ask for it. The young man serving us did his job, no more no less. Food was OK, but quite plain. The tofu was not great. They also did not have any RICE!!! It was 9 pm, they close at 10 pm, but still... They replaced the rice with noodles after asking if that was OK. Again, to be 100% fair, I can imagine times are difficult in this Corona virus situation... There was some hand sanitiser available. Overall, not a bad place, but probably more appropriate for a quick, cheap, bite than for a...

My favorite go-to Vietnamese place!! Very small (seats about 8 people), but oh so cozy and convenient in the Burggasse (7. district). Such a welcoming and friendly staff, always a smile on their face, help you swiftly to find what you should go for. No worries if you don't like it spicy, mild is really mild and I imagine if you prefer to spit fire, they can help you out as well. It's all freshly cooked and prepared and because of the size, rather quickly served. (Do allow for some time in the evenings, it's quite a popular place for take-away.)
