I have been wanting to come here for several months now. I live in the neighborhood and wanted to try the place, especially with the wonderful smells coming from inside and the great reviews. Today, finally, my mom and I came by. We wanted a table outside. We saw everything was taken. But then I realized one table was actually two. I asked the nice gentlemen sitting there if they had others coming, they said no, and started moving to make room for us. Before I had a chance to do anything else a waitress came running at us screaming that we were not supposed to talk to the other clients and were supposed to ask her about the table, because apparently it was reserved. Of course that's not a problem and we would've asked the staff inside anyway, but it's quite normal to just come and sit down in restaurants in Vienna. And there was no reserved sign. And she kept screaming at us in front of the other customers. It was very upsetting. We just turned around and left. The nice gentlemen at the table looked at us in shock and said "we guess you won't be joining us." She could've just explained nicely, instead of coming at us rudely and screaming at our face. I'm very disappointed I didn't get to try the pizza. I still hope to come back some day and perhaps receive kinder service. But that treatment was completely...
Read more[SUMMARY] Authentic Italian pizza made by italians in Vienna. Good service and a cute place in a quiet neighborhood.
[THE FOOD] Everything was prepared on the spot with fresh italian ingredients. The bufala pizza was extraordinary. Tomato sauce was fresh and very tasty and blended well with the cheese . The crust was perfect. You have to try it.
Mimosa was very balanced, thank goodness there wasn't much creme inside (common mistake of other pizzerias).
[THE STAFF] Really fast service considering they had to prepare numerous take away orders and to serve the actual tables of the restauraunt. The waiter was professional and really friendly despite the workload.
[THE PLACE] Nothing special, it's a small restaurant in the sidewalk. There are four tables outside and a few in the inside. I don't mention it in a negative way, quite the opposite. It's more personal and relaxing than the big restaurants.
[THE COST] We paid 28.5 euros for two pizzas and two glasses of tap water. It's on the cheap side considering the freshness of the ingredients and the quality of the pizza.
Note: They had a painting of the god of Napoli in a prominent...
Read moreAbsolutely fantastic place to get Neapolitan Pizza - we rather spontaneously decided to grab dinner at Il Forno today after seeing the overwhelmingly positive reviews and it's been an incredible treat.
There's quite the variety of pizzas to chose from - from the traditional classics like Marinara or Margherita to their more modern takes. Both the classic pizzas as well as their "concept" pizzas were incredibly tasty. The dough was airy and light, the ingredients simple but flavor packed.
Service was super friendly and if you manage to get a table inside you can also grab a peek of the pizzaiolos working their magic.
As others have mentioned - the place is on the smaller side so make sure to call in advance to reserve a spot.
I'll absolutely will come back to sample the other fantastically sounding pizzas...
