Unfortunately, my friend and I ended up here today, and it was probably one of the biggest mistakes we’ve ever made. We both enjoy good food and are happy to pay for quality, and if you feel the same, I highly recommend avoiding this place. My partner ordered a classic beef ramen, and I had a salmon bowl.
The fact that my dish contained about half a kilo of rice and only three tiny, thin slices of salmon would have been the least of our concerns—but the ramen was completely inedible. It was just hot water with a terrible taste, the meat was dry, and even a fool could tell it wasn’t fresh.
When my friend politely mentioned this to the staff (three clueless girls), they reacted indignantly and started saying we could add some salt or that they could bring us a sauce. We then asked if they were being serious or just joking, but the answer was that they weren’t joking, and maybe we shouldn’t have ordered that dish—or should’ve gone somewhere else to eat.
Excuse me, but if you already know this dish is that bad, maybe write it in big letters on the menu: “Don’t order this, we can’t prepare it properly.” By the end of it, we weren’t even upset about the food being inedible—we were more shocked at how unprofessional and rude the staff was. Their behavior was unacceptable and downright idiotic—simply intolerable.
I’d really appreciate it if someone in management could see this and get in touch.
And to those reading this, I wholeheartedly recommend the Som Kitchen right next door. The staff there is respectful, and the food is...
Read moreI ordered the special beef ramen and a matcha strawberry boba tea. The broth is flavorful, the beef melted apart and tasted amazing. A bit too much noodles for my taste, could've used more veggies, but the portion size is decent and will feed the average person even with some left to share. Price point is great. The atmosphere is what you can expect at a train station: small, busy, noisy, but it's clean and I believe they did the most with the space available while keeping the fast rotation of guests possible (few 2 and 4 seat tables, more single person bar style seating). While the neighbouring boba tea shop is clearly part of the place (literally, shared wall, same staff operates and serves the), but you cannot order tea from the ramen serving checkout and I assume the same applies the other way around. This is an unfortunate inconvenience in case you are feeling like picking up something else with your order. Otherwise quick and kind service, no worries if you don't speak German, they switched to English for me without batting an eye.
Would totally recommend for grabbing a bite of you have a few minutes. Take...
Read more4-5 Stars because the price and the portions of the food were amazing! I came here with my mum for a quick lunch, and as promised, although there were a lot of people, the food came fast. There is not a lot of space, as it’s at the main station of vienna and it’s also self service, but if you sit down they will bring your dishes to you. The portions are huge, so make sure you bring some appetite, not even I could finish the bowl. But the noodles were delicious, the spices just right and the tofu too. They offer you an egg or if you want miso soup or regular soup, and as a vegetarian there are a few, but enough choices, as well as vegan ones. Definitely a nice spot to rest before or after getting...
