Dare I say... comfort food? :) Let me rephrase, to avoid appropriating a term that typically refers to Southern African American cuisine, but I can confidently say that the food here is crafted with care and dedication. It was a delightful surprise. For two months, I’ve been on the hunt for a great Austrian restaurant in Vienna. German and Austrian cuisines don’t always carry the best reputation, and my initial attempts left me puzzled. However, I held onto the hope of discovering a place that would change my perspective—and I’ve found it. In food, what truly matters is the way it’s prepared. The roast pork dish, the restaurant’s signature, is undoubtedly slow-cooked. That’s the mark of love. The crispy pork skin chip is a delightful treat, and the fat side has an interesting, almost bready texture. At first glance, I thought it was bread, but once tasted, you realize it’s the fat. The beef tartar, though flavorful and intriguing with ingredients I can’t quite identify (dried capers, perhaps?), doesn’t hold a candle to the roast pork. A few minor points to note. First, the restaurant is quite small and lacks a strong exhaust fan, so you’ll likely leave smelling like roast pork. Second, I’m unsure why they gave me just one piece of pork skin in a giant paper bag, but that’s a...

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 An Unforgettable Culinary Experience in Vienna! Hands down the best meal I've had in Vienna - and that's saying something! This charming spot proved to be full of wonderful surprises. Due to a menu translation hiccup, I accidentally ordered the German-style pork with sauerkraut instead of the classic Wiener Schnitzel I intended to get. But what a happy accident! The succulent pork paired with perfectly balanced sauerkraut was somehow even more delicious than versions I've tried in Germany itself.

The real magic happened when the owner noticed my initial confusion. Not only did he graciously explain the menu differences, but he INSISTED on preparing a complimentary takeaway portion of their legendary Wiener Schnitzel for me to try later. This incredibly kind gesture completely won me over - the schnitzel lived up to its reputation with golden crispiness that stayed perfect even after reheating!

Beyond the exceptional food (both planned and unexpected), this restaurant radiates genuine Viennese hospitality. A true gem where culinary mastery meets heartfelt service. Don't miss either dish - the 'mistake' pork and the iconic schnitzel are both...

I really enjoyed the food here. I like the fact that the menu changes weekly but it also includes their specialities. I really wanted to try the liver and heart because I've never had liver but decided on the roast pork first. It was delicious. Service was quick and friendly. Only thing is it got crowded really fast and I felt like I had to hurry up so other people could have my table. It's not really a sit down restaurant but more like a casual food/ take out place. But definitely do recommend.

Edit: I actually went back a couple days later to try the lung and heart dish. That was amazing also. The taste wasn’t strong like liver. It was chopped up into thin slices with vegetables and a nice sauce.

Edit: I'm editing this again because I ended up going back again, 3rd time within a week. This time I tried the beef soup with noodles and it was delicious! The noodles were more like asian type rice noodles though so I'm not sure if that was a fusion thing or a Vienna thing. But it was really good! Also had the fluffy curd dumplings for dessert. It reminded me of a really light tasting cheesecake. Also good. Can't wait to come back the next time...

One of the best meals we had during our 5 days in Vienna. As soon as you enter the restaurant, the smell of delicious food fills the air and excites your senses. You can watch the chef at work through a spotless glass window into the kitchen, with pots and pans hanging neatly on the walls. It’s a very simple place—don’t expect fancy chinaware. The food is served in a well-designed box, which adds to its charm. Although I had reservations for dinner at 7:30 PM, we were starving and ended up going at 4 PM for a late lunch. Since the restaurant is small, I recommend making reservations if you’re going during regular lunch or dinner hours. They also offer takeout, and while we were there, we saw delivery workers coming in for pickups. Don’t miss this spot if you want some of the best food in Vienna. I had the schnitzel, and it was the best I’ve had in Austria—even compared to the fancier restaurants. Google Local Guide, level 9
