Dear Zanino Team, I would like to write about our negative experience and disappointment with the service from your employee today. Today we brought friends to your Ice Salon in the city centre. We were 8 people, we found a table and we sat down.Several times the waiter comes with some unappropriate comments and left us waiting without ordering for about 15 min. A table near by became available and we called him to order, wanting to use that table as well. He did not help us at all to bring the other table closer to us (nevermind) we were ready to do that by ourselves. We were happy that at last he would take our order, ignoring the fact that the waiter didn't stop to comment that we are too many, that the tables are small, that is not his obligation to join tables, ect. Meanwhile we still were trying to convince him to take our order. After 15 min of useless conversation - he started to take our order - we ordered coffees, water and started ordering ice cream and all of a sudden he stoped and he refused to take our ice cream order because there was no room at the table. And then we decided that we didn't want to continue with this. Dear Team, I am writing to you because Zanoni is an amazing place and I believe this feed back will help you to find employees who share your quality service standards and respect your customers. And because we would like to feel welcome every time we come to you! Best...
Read moreConsistently wonderful... Zanoni & Zanoni has been around for a long time in Vienna. It's reputation as one of the best, if not the best ice cream salons in Vienna is not by mistake. The ice cream creations here are fresh, made quickly, and served swiftly as well. This is a strong testament to the vision of Mr. Zanoni and now his sons... astute businessmen with a keen understanding of what their customers want. This is an A+ establishment and will no doubt remain that way for years to come. Come experience the best ice cream, coffee, and atmosphere that Vienna has to offer. They open at 7 am which is probably the best time to visit (for breakfast, of course) as the place gets filled up outside quickly and stays that way all night and day. Their coffee is outstanding (as it is and should be in Vienna). They use the bristot (Italian brand)... they are Italian after all, right? The breakfast croissant/brioche have a wonderful marmalade surprise inside. Their delicious tiramisu to go is something you should purchase for yourself. Buy it at the counter and take it home for yourself for desert this evening; you deserve it. Tip-you have to go inside and pay at the cashier. Their best ice cream flavors... fiocco, banane, pistazien, nougat,...
Read moreDespite its reputation as one of Vienna’s well-known ice cream shops, my personal experience was underwhelming.
The first impression came from the display counter, which unfortunately lacked the appeal you would expect from such a popular establishment. The presentation of the ice cream did not look particularly inviting.
In terms of taste, the ice cream was far too sweet for my preference, overshadowing the flavors. While sweetness levels can be subjective, I found it overwhelming rather than enjoyable.
The service experience was also disappointing. After paying for my order at the counter, I attempted to sit at the outdoor seating area. However, the waiter informed me that seating is reserved only for table orders, which are priced differently. This policy was not clearly communicated beforehand, leaving me feeling unwelcome.
Although many people recommend this shop, I believe experiences differ depending on personal taste and expectations. For me, both the product and the service fell short. Vienna has many ice cream shops worth exploring, and I would suggest trying alternatives to find one that better matches your own...
