The worst matcha in Vienna! The intriguing menu, full of different matcha varieties, is completely deceptive. I ordered a simple matcha latte, and it turned out to be milky water with no trace of matcha flavor. How could this happen? Well, they use a matcha concentrate from a huge bottle—just mix it with milk, and there you go. To make matters worse, it’s ridiculously overpriced: €7.20 for a giant cup of disappointment. What a waste of money—and probably full of chemicals! Never again.

We really looked forward to try the exciting flavours but unfortunately, they were all dairy and we both are allergic to it… The matcha we took was the most plain one you could take: with water. When a matcha tastes great only with water, then it must be a good matcha. The colour was emerald green and a bit too sweet. I guess they add sugar as standard to every drink. I would let them know that you don’t want it sweetened if you avoid sugar as I do…

Shodai Matcha is my absolute favorite bubble tea place in the city! The drink and desserts selection is huge — there’s something for every taste and every season. Their milk tea classic is literally the best drink ever. The staff are always super nice — they even remember me and my usual order! I totally recommend this place, and if you visit, make sure to try the purple cookie — it’s insanely good! (photo taken at the Walfischgasse 4 location)🫶🏻

The green vibes remind me of the green future we will all collectively have. The warmth of their smiles wards off the cold of winter (and haters). I have been welcomed into a small but mighty shop that I will remember. My wife and I were out on a cold night and we were IN NEEED of boba and everything was closed but Shodai was open, just… for… us! If you are in need of boba this is the place for you. If I were to get started on the flavor and texture I would...
