There was a very special atmosphere in the restaurant. Reminded me about the "old times" and about the Train museum in Murzuschlag. It felt a bit deserted, and that's why... sad. We had once a small train accident, when 2 trains came at the same time to the bridge. Only the good reaction of one of the guests helped to prevent the disaster. ( the trains were full with food and drinks, so the colision has almost ruined the food). Luckilywe have stopped one of the train. The food itself was... normal. But we did not try any steaks, only burgers. So this was not a special taste or something. My friends ordered Beer train and according to their reviews, you can find beer with better taste in Wien. The good thing about the restaurant is the service. Or the people who work there. It's the reason why I am writing. The waitress was very responding, smiling. And she was coming very often to us with questions. We met with eyes few times and she understood my intention to order more drinks without even asking. It was cool. And this type of service in Wien you wouldn't find in many restaurants. In this restaurant i felt good. I don't think that this is a good place to go there with friends, as you don't have my space to talk with your company. But this place is good to come with children. For them I would add trains with travellers (of course without food). It's good and interesting to look at trains in general) Come with men) They would love it too. The restaurant brings you in childish mood for sure. But we need more...

Food? Burgers way to expensive for what you get, and let's be serious, anyone that says: "the burger was great" ate a completely normal burger that usually costs 10€ to max 15€.
Drinks? The delivery service is not practicable. You order a beer and it needs at least 20min to 30min to even come to you (plus it will most likely not even come to you but a different person), so at the end of the day, you still go to the bar and take it yourself.
The trains are a really nice idea but the execution is bad. A lot of time the trains had to be put back on the tracks (they derailed). Due to the tracks and more lanes the tables have to be huge so as a big group it is almost impossible to talk to eachother normaly (and this was on a very silent day with not many people in the restaurant). And like I wrote before usually what you order will not even come to you (which is the whole point of the train service) but to a completely different person that ordered something else. At the end of the day you get the feeling of it being more of a kids attraction than a usefull and special part of the restaurant (for which you are paying for)
Generaly I really wanted this place to be a great experience but sadly it angered me enough to write this review.
P.S. The waitress was really friendly and did try her best, but the owner was grumpy and cold (like he really did not want us there).
But I do wish them...
Read moreWhen we lived in Vienna we used to go quite often because my husband loves the trains. What a great concept, your order being delivered by trains! Food and beer are also very good. I usually don't leave reviews about the staff, but the latest experience on the 21nd of August leaves me no choice. The waiter was very rude, hello grumpy Viennese waiters? We were there with a baby so maybe that's what annoyed him, no idea. We were 4 people and each ordered food and drinks (beers, cocktails). Also a glass of tap water, which he brought. Later, when I asked him again for 2 glasses of tap water, he said tap water costs 3,90 eur and if I'm sure I want it. I thought he was joking, then he showed me the menu which said 'Gefilttertes ...wasser 3.90'. I said no, thanks. When we paid, I said what we had, plus the one glass of the expensive tap water. And he goes, it's ok, you get that one for free. Very sarcastic and unnecessary. Now, I don't even know if tap water is actually for free or not. If it costs indeed 3,90, it should be reported. Tap water is a human right. In places where you don't buy any drink, they usually charge 0.50-1 eur for it and I find it fair. But almost 4 eur when you order also other drinks...?! Or maybe it was just a bad joke of the rude waiter, no idea. However, very annoying. Great place,...
