I am grateful I found this hidden gem. During my last night in Vienna I was in search of authentic Viennese food and Wandel did not disappoint. I started my meal with the bacon wrapped figs on a bed of arugula with balsamic vinaigrette. It was wonderful. Next I had a spätzle dish, an Austrian staple I had never tried. It was fantastic, although it was just a little too salty, the flavor was great. I finished my meal with their pumpkin seed oil ice cream which was very delicious. The atmosphere and wait staff were very welcoming and I loved the overall homely vibe. I would recommend Wandel to anyone visiting Vienna. Plus, the dishes were very reasonably priced....

We visited this restaurant on Saturday night having walked past it earlier in the day. Although it's unassuming from the outside, it was one of the best meals we had in Vienna. The food was authentic Viennese classics, cooked to perfection. We particularly enjoyed the spätzle with assorted accompaniments.
