The typical our pos terminal does not work and pay by cash or card to card type of business. You can excuse yourself all you want but to be afraid of paying tax is annoying to everyone at this point. To have an additional pos terminal is simply good business. To give a cash register receipt is mandatory by law. Which I did not get. You choose to cheat the tax authority and you cheat your customers and you try to pretend to be a legitimate business since 1995. The staff made it my problem, when I came to eat and have a nice time and pay by card and not to resolve restaurants problems. But they had to ruin it and did not like that the customer stated the obvious so they had to yell back at me. I will never come back. I was extremely annoyed. The moment Cop29 is finished the attitude towards foreigners again changed to take advantage of them. Instead of giving constant excuses, maybe simply start practicing legal business. Get a second bank pos terminal and don’t make it customers problem. Very rude waiter that spoke English. Instead of yelling at a customer maybe go to your boss and demand normal work environment and don’t yell at the customer that paid for the food you sell. Stupid approach. Short minded management. Rude and uneducated staff. Update: after reading other reviews from foreigners, the restaurant constantly practices no card payments. Also most customers wrote that the staff is rude. So maybe the owner should start looking at the staff more. And start training. So I am sure this is a systematic problem to avoid responsibility. Again my question where is my “kassa Hessab”? The 3 times I went to the restaurant there was never a receipt. The customer is not there to solve your issues. It’s your responsibility. The pos terminal hotline works 24/7. You can call Kapital Bank at any time. Stop...
Read moreGreat selection of desserts, our favourites were the San Sebastián, Napoleon! Amazing variety of teas (Black Forest tea & the Fruit tea are refreshing) and some really good coffee! But the staff is a bit weird, not allowing us to sit on a couch even when traveling with a baby whereas the next set of two ladies were immediately allowed to sit on the couch, just the attitude makes the atmosphere a little toxic. Didn’t get his name, but there’s one male server (Tural) who’s really not friendly, the other staff was actually smiling and helpful :) and please please start accepting payments by card!!
In line to the response from the café management: If you check your initial camera footage it was Mr. Tural who instructed the female staff to set us up a chair in the middle as we are stepping into the cafe and he did the same gesture on our previous visit which was on 7th May evening. Although the female server that day (May 7) was very sweet and caring enough to allow us to sit on the couch along with a baby chair. Also hope the cafe can start accepting card payments soon. Thanks again. Just to highlight once again, the food is amazing! It’s just that if these small things are taken care of, then Palet would definitely be among Baku’s...

I recently visited Palet and it instantly became one of my favorite cafés in Baku. The place has such a warm and cozy atmosphere, making it perfect for a relaxed coffee break or a casual meet-up with friends.
The coffee here is simply amazing—rich, smooth, and expertly brewed. Whether you prefer a classic espresso or something more indulgent, they have something for every coffee lover. Their pastries are just as impressive—fresh, flaky, and absolutely delicious. I also tried one of their sandwiches, and it was packed with flavor, made with high-quality ingredients that made every bite satisfying.
On top of the great food and drinks, the service was excellent. The staff is friendly and welcoming, making sure you have a great experience from start to finish.
If you’re looking for a charming café with fantastic coffee, delicious pastries, and mouthwatering sandwiches, Palet is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be...
