The Grill Master Seafood House — Restaurant in New Providence

If you’re looking for an authentic, off-the-beaten-path seafood experience in Nassau, The Grill Master is it! My dad and I were on a cruise and I told him I really wanted to find a true hole-in-the-wall seafood spot. We got off the ship, walked along the beach road, and stumbled upon this hidden gem.

The guy running it was grilling everything fresh over a wood fire — the smell alone was enough to draw us in. We ordered a huge Bahamian lobster and some shrimp, both incredibly fresh and cooked to perfection. Yes, we waited over an hour, but it was totally worth it. While we waited, he even gave us some beers on the house — such a chill, local vibe.

It was one of those travel moments you don’t forget. Amazing food, laid-back atmosphere, and the satisfaction of supporting a small local business....

We were told that Fish Fry St is where you go for good Jerk Chicken. However, Mark the Grill Master is the ONLY spot for good jerk chicken on the whole strip! (We tried the other places - WHACK and EXPENSIVE).

I would pay Mark 10 times more than what we paid at those other spots because his food was FRESH and FLAVORFUL. What a humble person who makes amazing food and sauces.

I caught fish on a charter in the morning and by the afternoon I called Mark, who didn’t know at all and asked if he’d cook my fish for me. I walked over and hung out with him while he prepped the fish. I was fortunate to sample the incredible jerk chicken as I waited and locals piled in.
