Came here at around 2PM on a Saturday. It was during off peak hours and there wasn’t much people at fish fry so we thought we’d order a conch salad to eat.
There was a local there who was chatting with another group of people and I asked if they ordered. Then the local mumbled something which we later found out he ordered for all of us. This was red flag number one on when we should have just left…
We proceeded to wait what felt like an eternity. Throughout the next hour, I smelt weed been smoked behind it, multiple people walking in and out of the cooking area, and being harassed by locals who were drinking beer walking by. It was super uncomfortable. There was another family from the east coast, and I kid you not, a drunk guy was talking about the daughter inappropriately to her dad. Red flag number two of why we should have just left.
The person making the salad finishes and give the one to the local, and the other east coast family and us waited for another 30 minutes.
When we got our conch, there weren’t that many pieces of conch in it. It was mostly onions and fruits and maybe 3-4 pieces of conch.
When we stayed in Atlantis, we ordered from mckenzies conch, it took like 5 - 10 min max.
We ended up waiting nearly a whole hour for a conch salad to be made. It was so ridiculous.
Ended up paying the guy a $20 for a $19 conch salad and of course he did not give a change.
Honestly, just go to twin brothers or oh Andros, their entrees took a while too but definitely not a full hour for an appetizer that is a salad. You also can feel safe sitting inside while having a drink.
I’d give this place a zero star if I can. Avoid...
Read moreCONCH IS every where in Nassau, Bahamas. This place here it’s beyond great. A small hut tucked away passed all the restaurants you’ll find Willie d conch. This is my second time coming here to Willie’s within 2 years. When coming here make sure you have at least 25-35 minutes to wait for the salad to be made. Everything is chopped fresh while you wait. There’s a hut next door that sells ice cold beer and alcohol. My favorite is the tropical conch salad with 1/2 the hot peppers($19 U.S.)If you love extra spicy then keep it normal haha. There’s plenty of taxis to take you back to the port($5 U.S per person/03sep25) or a beach. If you want to enjoy the walk from the port it’s about a good 30 min...
