My friend and I was very hungry and looking for a place to eat. We saw this restaurant and thought we should try.
The food is BENGALI-THAI, nothing authentic, which is not the problem. The taste is below average. The Red curry just looked like one. It tasted nothing like a thai red curry! The spring roll was average. We were too hungry and as you can see we cound not even finish half of the food. That's so not like us!
Edit: As you can see from picture, we had a lot of food, especially rice leftover which we told them to pack. They only packed 50% of the leftover fried rice. So we basically we wasted a good amount of money.
The place feels moldy and the Ac did not work as well so it was kinda hot.
They charged 164taka for service charge where the service deserves 0. Not because the staff (only 1 person) was rude or something, but because he just delivered the food to our table. If you know what I mean! No helping, no serving.
No wonder there was nobody but us at the...
Read moreOn June 21st, we visited there after hearing about its authentic Thai cuisine. Despite spending over 3,000 taka on food, I realized it wasn't truly authentic Thai, as I've experienced in Thailand. While the food was good, it didn't match the exact Thai flavors.
When we arrived around 6:00 PM, the restaurant was mostly empty. Later, some customers were seated in another section. We chose the quieter area after Eid to chat with friends peacefully, avoiding the busier, budget-friendly spots.
However, the restaurant staff disappointed us. Although one part of the restaurant was empty, they asked us to leave to accommodate a reservation, even though other tables were available.
I found their behavior upsetting. If the restaurant had been full and no tables were free, I would have understood, but that wasn't the case. They could have offered us another table instead of asking us to leave. ((((I didn't take photo of all...
Read moreWent to Pan Tao Thai Restaurant at Banani-12. This is the 2nd time we've been there. The first time was on last Valentine's Day. We took the Tom Yum soup with golden Prawn and we were amazed by the taste. They also served a green mint drink for free as a spice-soother. Obviously, these pictures are not from that visit. We went there again 2 days ago, ordered that same Tom Yum soup, with basil leaf fried rice and chicken curry. The taste was not in any farmost way comparable to the previous experience. It was average. The spice-soother mint drink was absent. Till that part, it was okay for us. But after 30-45 minutes we began to feel like throwing up and gas, both of us! We shall never go back to Pan Tao again, and shame on...
