Brasserie Windsor — Restaurant in Antwerp

I came here first to enjoy the lovely quality in wine and coffee.

A few weeks later we decided to try out the food. To my surprise, it was better than your average brasserie. It wasn't much in quantity, but it definitely made up in quality. 'The Chicken Crisp Burger' AND 'The Windsor Burger' were amazing. Lovely bread, meat and fries. Only thing missing were a bit of extra vegetables at the side, instead of only between the hamburger buns. The price/quality is very well balanced, too.

The staff, this one lovely lady, was very friendly and even asked us during our meal if everything was satisfactory. Always with a smile.

Pitiful management and service. A nice weekend: We came for lunch with my husband. The waiter brought our plates without caring a mask (which is mandatory in Belgium in all restaurants) and spoke above our plates. When we drawed the attention of the personal on this and they did not seem concerned at all by our worries about Covid-19. They did not apologize, they did not offer us the possibility to change our plates or anything. When we insisted, they just cancelled our order and refuse to serve us again. The food was good if you're not celiac. I had the burger and it was so so good but the omelette not that good, just okay. The barman was nice but he was sitting down with customers and eating while he was working. Another bad point was that he was picking his nose and yawning in front of us while he was speaking. Also, bear in mind that tap water in this part of Antwerp is not suitable for human consumption but may not be toxic elsewhere in the city.
