Extreme Warning: Utterly Disrespectful & Overpriced — Avoid Potaé Antwerp
Group size: 12 Dietary constraints: Vegetarian Visit frequency: Twice — each visit was worse than the last.
⸻ Why you too will Regret Dining Here • Rude, Unprofessional Staff: The demeanour of several employees was openly hostile—unhelpful, downright mean, and exuding aggressive body language, especially toward our female members. At one point, we felt threatened, not welcomed. • False Promises, Hidden Traps: Their online menus and kiosks advertised “unlimited salad refills,” yet when we politely asked for basic salad replacements, we were met with humiliation and refusal—completely dishonest and unacceptable. • Exorbitant Pricing for Disappointing Portions: We were effectively looted. For close to €15 per kumpir, the portions were meager—levels more befitting of a food scam than a value meal. One reviewer aptly wrote: “For close to €15 you get a medium sized potato with very scarce ingredients. I could even count the corn…” • Vegetarians Cornered with Few Choices: Our dietary preferences made finding better alternatives difficult, and our second visit sealed it—this place is now officially off our list.
⸻
Verified Complaints from Other Diners • A reviewer summed up the shortcomings: “Very Less toppings… €13.5… very expensive.” • Another echoed our frustration over missing toppings and value: “The toppings can be improved in quantity… I could hardly taste [the cheese]. Even though I added extra…”

Final Verdict:
Potaé in Antwerp is not just overpriced—it’s a hall of disappointment wrapped in empty advertising. The combination of rude service, false promises, hostility, and skimpy portions makes it a restaurant to skip entirely. Avoid this place at all costs, particularly if you’re vegetarian and expect basic respect, honest service,...

Read moreFor close to €15 you get a medium sized potato with very scarce ingredients. I could even count the corn, and there was less than a teaspoon of pesto, I could barely see it. Serving this as kumpir in Turkey would be outright criminal.
The service was also nonexistent, they have table service for Turkish people, but they thought we weren't Turkish so they didn't even bother.
All in all, I would be embarrassed to set foot in there a second time as a Turkish person, give kumpir the justice it deserves. In the meantime, you can have way better kumpir in Antwerp, or way better snacks...
