The BBQ — Restaurant in Antwerp

When an european has expectations from a BBQ, it has thick pieces of meat, maybe some veggies and sausages, pieces macerated and not macerated. Let's respect that there is NO ALCOHOL. The place is more islamic / family oriented, I suppose. Lamb was tender and excellent flavour, chicken was very well marinated, the sauces are tasty, but among the spices of the beef I had a non fresh impression that my bathroom confirmed when I arrived home. I can't give a higher rate to the food for this kind of "intoxication". Another negative thing is that I was overheating my legs. It must be wonderful in winter but not in summer. Some other barbaque places like the korean near Ruben's house don't give that sensation. It is not well isolated. The personal was as attentive as they could be, so nothing to blame to them. The ambience and decoration are comfortable only one star less for the legs extra warming in summer. Does the place match these expectations, then go ahead. We arrived with a large group and two babies. The restaurant was empty and we requested to be seated in area away from the door they use to bring the charcoal for the BBQ. Where we could sit comfortably and have space to take care of the babies if we needed to. Instead they lied and said the table was not clean, even though all the tables were clean and available because the restaurant was empty on a Sunday night. The service was terrible and the manager was rude and arrogant. It is clear that the owner is never there and allows their employees to do whatever they want. They have no control over their staff and it shows. Communication between the workers and the customers is terrible, they don’t ask anything just start to put things on the table and light the grill without warning. And we were with 2 babies, it was a a joke. They barely speak French, English or Flemish. If you want a nice night out it’s not worth it for the money you spend to deal with such terrible service and unseasoned meat. We will never...

Een geweldige culinaire ervaring met enkele verbeterpunten

Onlangs heb ik een fantastische avond gehad bij The BBQ. De sfeer en ambiance waren geweldig en droegen bij aan een plezierige eetervaring. Het restaurant straalde een gezellige en ontspannen sfeer uit, perfect om te genieten van een heerlijke maaltijd.

Het eten bij The BBQ was absoluut lekker en royaal. De gerechten waren goed bereid en de smaken waren uitstekend. Het was duidelijk dat er veel aandacht werd besteed aan de kwaliteit van het eten. Ik genoot van elke hap en voelde me voldaan na de maaltijd. Het menu bood een goede variëteit aan opties, waardoor er voor elk wat wils was.

De service was professioneel en stipt. Het personeel was attent en zorgde ervoor dat alles soepel verliep. Ze waren behulpzaam bij het beantwoorden van vragen en deden hun best om aan onze behoeften te voldoen. Ik waardeerde de efficiëntie van de bediening en de algehele professionele houding van het personeel.

Er waren echter enkele punten die mijn ervaring enigszins beïnvloedden. Ten eerste was er een grote afzuigkap die het zicht op de persoon tegenover mij belemmerde. Hoewel dit niet de schuld was van het restaurant zelf, kon het soms lastig zijn om een gesprek te voeren als gevolg van deze belemmering. Het zou goed zijn als The BBQ hier mogelijk een oplossing voor kan vinden, bijvoorbeeld door het herpositioneren van de tafels of het aanpassen van de afzuigkap.

Een ander aspect dat voor verbetering vatbaar is, is het betalingsbeleid. Het was vreemd om te ontdekken dat er alleen contant geld of betaling via Payconiq werd geaccepteerd, en geen bancontact. Dit kan een ongemak zijn voor gasten die geen contant geld bij zich hebben of geen Payconiq-account hebben. Het zou handig zijn als The BBQ betalingsmogelijkheden zou uitbreiden om een breder scala aan betalingsmethoden te accepteren.

Ondanks deze punten van kritiek, zou ik The BBQ zeker aanbevelen voor een culinaire ervaring. De geweldige sfeer en het heerlijke eten maken het een plek die de moeite waard is om te bezoeken. Hoewel er ruimte is voor verbetering op het gebied van zichtbaarheid en betalingsmogelijkheden, zou ik nog steeds graag terugkeren naar The BBQ voor een nieuwe...
