I decided to give this restaurant another try, but it was highly disappointing.
The music was way too loud and gave me a headache.
The service was friendly and fast.
I ordered a spicy black garlic tonkotsu ramen and my friend ordered the kara black garlic ramen. Both tasted heavily of burned garlic (oil).
The broths were ok, but got completely ruined by the bitter tones. My friend's dumplings were bland and the wrapper had a weird texture. Our noodles had different textures and sizes, which makes me wonder about the quality.
When I asked the staff about the oil, they first blamed it on the spicy oil, but both our broths were bitter. After we finished, we were asked again about how we liked the food. I explained the chili oil couldn't have been the reason. In the end they claimed the kitchen was trying out a new recipe, which I don't believe. I feel like serving burned food shouldn't be acceptable, especially since I wasn't the first customer to complain.
I would've expected them to take accountability. Customer service on management level is not...
Read moreTakumi is my favourite restaurant in Antwerp. I go there every 2 weeks. Very good food, very well trained and kind staff. But this week I went to check the new one in Keyserlei, took my mom for her birthday, and what a disappointment... It took too long for taking our order and the waiter that was on service besides the poor treatment he gave us (when his colleagues told him we were waiting to order, he gave them a consent and took ages to come back to the table so we could actually order), I asked him for a new spoon when the food arrived because mine had fell off the table, he simply looked at the table nad told me "you already have a spoon" and I said "yes. I'd like a new one please". He looked at me and never came back or looked at the table again! I'm very very disappointed and frustrated. I've always complimented Takumi and took family and friends there to check the place. But this new unit? I never intend...
Read more4.5/5 Love it! Was greeted warmly when I entered. Really felt like a place in Japan, including the date that was happening next to us and the kid who had a birthday. Was served straight away at a pretty busy time, got some good ramen(vegan as a test and a meat version) Really enjoyed mine and my brother enjoyed his, he was pretty sceptical at first. Got a cool Japanese drink id never tried before and liked it. The price for it was a pretty big scam tho(around 4 euros for 100g, not sure about the normal prices around here, but was cool trying something new and since it wasn’t very sweet it rlly was refreshing and enough. The atmosphere was nice and there were many Japanese style posters. (Got Black Garlic vegan and Black Garlic with pork) In the end I think this place is worth the 20-25euro price tag for a lot of food and the value for a large city is...
