Visiting for a short trip, bringing my dad away after my Nan had passed. Came here for breakfast after reading great reviews. Safe to say we can’t even review the food as we left without ordering a thing. When we arrived, I went in and mentioned we’d like to wait for a table outside and asked may we have a menu to look though. I was told that there would be one given to us at the table - okay, we’ll wait. I should note that the outside space is 9x 2-seater tables out the front of the cafe - not a large space - after we sat we got ignored twice by a gentleman server - not overlooked - blatantly ignored. After waiting over 20 minutes just for a menu, my dad went inside to ask for one and order drinks - where he was again blatantly ignored - the gentleman turned to look at him then turned back to his activities - no acknowledgement, no I’ll be with you in a minute, not even a nod. A couple had arrived about 2 minutes before my dad went in… the women had come in about 30 seconds after my dad - she was acknowledged, given menus and ordered her drinks. I’m sure you can imagine my dads frustration.. he came out and told me and we decided to leave. No sooner had we picked up our things had the couples drinks come out. We left to find somewhere else, but I had to go back in and say something. I went in and spoke to a lady behind the counter, I asked calmly if there was an issue with serving us, as we had been ignored no less than 3 times. She replied no no where were you sitting - we weren’t difficult to see, we weren’t hidden, the gentlemen had cleared the table next to us and ignored us - she said she’d come out to see us now but I refused, we clearly weren’t welcome and had been made to feel as such. A real shame as every other cafe, restaurant, bar, shop and museum we had been into had been so friendly and welcoming. A real shame to end out trip with the worst...
Read moreIt's mixed feelings with Tattie's for me. First the positive. Food was good. I wish I could say the same about service. The waitress who attended to our order seemed quite bothered by our presence there and was doing her best to show it. We were four including two children. We ordered food for all four of us and while waiting for food to arrive our youngest child came over to me and sat on my lap. The waitress immediately came over and asked for the chair since child was on my lap. After 30mins or so of waiting the food arrived and I asked for the chair back so that all four can sit and eat. She looked absolutely mad by this request and found a stool and literally swung it to our table. Even the people sitting nearby was wondering what is wrong with her. Apart from descent food, it was quite a...
Read moreWe found @Tattie's online because of its high ratings and tried it for breakfast. It's a smaller front towards the street, we originally walked right by it, but there was lots of seating outside and seemed to be plenty inside as well. The staff was friendly and helwerelpful, and service was great. Portion sizes plentiful enough to fill you up, and prices are cheap for Brugge and definitely appropriate for the amount of food you get. We had waffles with various fruits and chocolate, which were spectacular. We also got the hot chocolate, which was very good. The atmosphere is relaxed and casual, and we plan on trying to come back before we leave! Highly...
