Hollandse Vismijn — Restaurant in Bruges

This was my favourite bar in Bruges for several reasons:

1. The beer menu provides a useful key so you know what kind you’re buying: Trappist, sour, locally brewed etc. It also tells you the % alcohol content (unlike some bars) so you don’t go off the deep end too quickly!

2. The ambience is classy and chilled, lots of old locals playing cards and reading news papers. Very relaxing, warm and pleasant surroundings.

3. Typically European service, a waiter who doesn’t come up every 5 mins. He’s chatting to the locals and doing his own thing, but instantly comes over when you catch his eye. Super...

Our favourite pub in Bruges. We spent a fair few hours in here drinking, relaxing and taking in the atmosphere.

Superb selection of beers, each clearly marked with % and type. Service was brilliant, not coming by all the time and overwhelming you but as soon as you looked up to get another drink they were there. Heavily frequented by locals which we loved, made for a great atmosphere.

No food but there are other places for that. They do offer crisps....

Pedimos dos espresso machiato, la mujer desgradablemente nos indica que no sabe lo que es. Le explicamos que es café con un poco de leche. Nos dice que ellos lo llaman Capuccino, le decimos que no, que eso no es lo que hemos pedido. Que es café con muy poca leche. Nos traen dos latte machiato, es decir, mucha leche con un poco de café. Se lo reclamamos y nos indica que eso no existe y que no lo tienen. Le decimos que nos tendría que haber indicado que no lo tienen. Los dos presentes con muy mala educación. Hemos pagado y marchado. Por otro lado los baños con muy mal olor y poco higiénico. NADA RECOMENDABLE.

En respuesta a vosotros, ni si quiera nos habéis indicado que existía un menú, simplemente nos habéis traído lo que habéis querido sin dar ninguna explicación. Después de reclamarlo y no dar ninguna solución nos habéis dicho que no lo tenéis. Y os hemos indicado que lo justo hubiese sido avisarnos que no tenéis lo que estamos pidiendo.

Pero no hay mucho más que esperar cuando te atienden con tan mala educación.
