We had a wonderful experience staying at the Crowne Plaza in Bruges from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. ||The room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and thoughtfully designed with plenty of storage, making it perfect for both short and extended stays. The bed was comfortable too.||The location couldn’t have been better, right in the heart of Bruges, with everything on our doorstep, allowing us to explore this enchanting city with ease.||The staff were exceptional - friendly, welcoming, and always willing to go the extra mile. A special thank you to Sophie, the concierge, who went above and beyond to help us secure a dinner reservation for our group of 17. She tirelessly called multiple restaurants and made what could have been a logistical headache completely stress-free.||Another standout was Carlo, who truly exemplified kindness and dedication. After finishing his evening shift, Carlo spent over an hour teaching two very engaged 9-year-old boys how to play chess. His patience and enthusiasm created such a special memory for them both and for us. Both boys have now asked for chess sets for Christmas! Carlo’s gesture went far beyond what anyone could expect and we’ll always remember it.||The pool area was another highlight. Whilst small, it was clean, well-maintained, and a great way to unwind after a day of exploring.||The breakfast in the morning was also great.||We do apologise for the noise caused to other guests, by our group of very excited boys on the Saturday night. They were very excited to be on their holiday together after a long train journey. Due to the heavy rain we were unable to go out and do what we had planned so were sat for a lot of the evening in the reception area. The reception staff handled it with good grace, which we really appreciated as we know that some of the other guests grumbled about the noise, which I can completely understand. Thank you to Aaron for his help with trying to keep the children under control and being so completely understanding with us.||Bruges itself is a magical city, particularly at Christmas. The festive atmosphere made it feel like a true winter wonderland. We couldn’t have asked for a better hotel or city for our getaway, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the Crowne Plaza Bruges to anyone planning a visit.||And to the Crowne Plaza, your staff are amazing and truly make this the hotel it is.||Thank you for helping make our trip...
Read moreWe stayed at Crown Plaza Bruges one night to see the interesting historical sights and the famous canals. The hotel is in the center of the city. We could explore all the interesting sights within walking distance. Bruges is a beautiful city and we could easily visit all the main attractions. The newly added Concert Hall in the fringe of the city had great concerts. We missed it this time, but it gives us one more reason to come back to enjoy the city and culture.
I am an IHG Diamond Elite. Luna at the front desk told me that I am upgraded to a suite; room 421. It was a two level suit on the 4th floor. The first level is a sitting area with a sofa, an armchair, a fridge, and a large TV. The second level is a large bedroom and a large bath room. The bathroom has a bi-fold glass window with a fantastic view of the roof line of some of the historical buildings. The ceiling is actually the roof of a building with all the wood beams. It gave us a feeling of staying in a log cabin. Our bedroom was well furnished. The design of the room and the arrangement of windows were truly creative. We enjoyed the hotel room very much and spent some extra time indoor because of the room is so interesting and enjoyable.
We had very positive interactions with front desk staff, housekeeping staff, and restaurant staff. Everybody was friendly and helpful. Luna of the front desk told us hotel restaurant has good food if we like to try Belgian cuisine. We checked the menu and decided to have dinner at the hotel restaurant. We had filet of sole, Flemish beef stew, and a large Belgian beer. A small side salad and French fries came with order. Portion was generous but we finished everything. Dinner was a bit pricy but very good value.
We will stay at Crown Plaza Bruges again next time when we...
Read moreRoom - We stayed in two double bed standard room. The spacious room appear to be partially updated or renovated so the old and the new doesn't match. There was a fridge, a coffee maker, coffee, tea, water, a desk and chair, a table, two arm chairs, a luggage rack, a full length mirror, hair dryer, etc. They do not automatically provide some bathroom amenities (shower cap, comb, toothbrush, toothpaste, etc.) but you can ask reception for it. You can also ask reception for a kettle of you don't like using the coffee maker to make tea. The air conditioner is on the loud side and may wake you up at night. With the air conditioner running, the room temperature is inconsistent - sometimes hotter, sometimes cooler. The shower had some black mold.
Location - It's close to all the sightseeing and dining. You can go everywhere on foot. There's a grocery store a five minute walk away. The only downside to the location is getting there by public transport. From Bruge train station, you can take a bus and then walk almost 10 minutes (with luggage in tow).
Service - Most staff were attentive and informative, especially front desk staff. Whenever we asked for something, we got it right away.
Breakfast - Hot food included bacon, potato wedges, mushrooms, tomatoes, omelette, scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, and sausages. There was a few different types of bread, three different types of pastries, selection of jams & nut butters, smoked salmon & condiments to go with it, proscuitto, two types of sliced cheese, one option for cold cuts, cereals & cereal toppings, muffins, little waffles, little donuts, whole apples, pre-cut fruits, etc. For beverages, there was a few juices, selection of tea bags, coffee, milk,...
