Brasserie Mozarthuys — Restaurant in Bruges

HOLIDAY MAKERS/FOREIGNERS BEWARE - GO ELSEWHERE!!

We saw the reviews about this place and decided to go against them as the food looked great... BIG MISTAKE!! Trust the reviews people!!

It's a shame that the staff are SO DAMN RUDE because the food was actually okay. We were sat near a fire which was gorgeous after exploring the Christmas markets so we appreciated the cosy ambiance. The menu is very expensive though for what it is at on average 25 euro per person for not very much food.

A friend & I ordered fried 1/2 chicken - why did I get a bbq roasted chicken instead? We all ordered and paid for meals that came with frites - why did we get 2 bowls to share between 5? We all ordered one drink each - why did 7 come out and we were expected to pay for their waiters error? We paid full service charge/tip as per the bill/receipts recommended percentages - why did we get an arguing waiter demanding a tip on top of that when we had already done so? THE AUDACITY!!

The staff definitely wanted to take advantage of the slight language barrier & treated others in the restaurant very different to us which was upsetting. We were nothing but polite and considering they had a menu with English translations we thought we were on to a winner as we could order exactly what we wanted.

The customer service is absolutely outrageous in this place. Save your money!!!! Unless you are from Belgium, in which case you'll be treated...

We were looking for a place for Dinner in Brügge. The evening before we spent a lot of money in a Restaurant named "La Sirene d`Or" at Markt. We were not satisfied. So at Mozarthuys i asked at 11am a Waiter called CHRIS for preparing a special Meal becaus our Daughter has a Allergie. He asked the Kitchen and they confirm. We book Table for 7.30pm and he said he will be our waiter. When we arrive for Dinner he said hello to all of us and place us at our table. We were not ready and he said he life the Tablet and we can order by ourself, of course a joke we didn´t missunderstood. Ice was broken. We had great Meals like Beefstew, Salad with Scampi and the Special Meal for our Daughter. Everything was very good. We asked why so less Waitress but many Waiters in Brügge? Becaus Waiters have a 12 hour shift per Day and of course sometime they are tired. I saw one review where a customer complain that the Restaurant wan´t no Tourists. How wrong is this review. waiters are impossible - very rude and not friendly at all - we asked for soft drinks without ice - and we had to wait very long (it is summer and hot) than another waiter came to the table - I kindly ask to remove the ice and waiter was very unpolite and shut the ice in our of our glasses and mumbled oh mme what a question - what WE ARE CUSTOMERS and i asked this in advance - than the food - chicken with french fries and some not fresh salad, drifted in a brown sauce - When cutting the chicken, the sauce splattered on your clothing. Dishes were not that nice served and waiters were standing outside with a face like a warrior omg such unkind people. Each couple that came on the terrace where brutally handled just sit down first and relax - what kind of answers are these ?? We are tourists/gasts in their city - and do not want to be shout out or handled brutally - the owner should think abt hiring some FRIENDLY and helpful waiters - these 2 were not worthy to earn their salary.
