Disappointing Experience at Plaza Cafe in Bruges: Rude Manager Ruins Otherwise Pleasant Visit

I recently visited Plaza Cafe in Bruges, Belgium, hoping for a delightful experience of enjoying coffee and waffles. While the ambiance was pleasant and the waiter serving us was courteous, our visit was marred by an incident that left a sour taste in my mouth.

As my companion and I were peacefully enjoying our meal at a corner table, we were abruptly interrupted by another waiter turned apparent manager, who thought it appropriate to rearrange napkins on shelves near our table. In doing so, she carelessly bumped into my elbow, causing me discomfort and spoiling the tranquility of our meal.

When we rightfully questioned her actions and expressed our concern about her disregard for customer comfort, her response was shockingly dismissive and arrogant. Instead of offering a sincere apology and acknowledging the inconvenience caused, she rudely brushed off our concerns, displaying a complete lack of empathy and professionalism.

To add insult to injury, when we requested to speak with the manager, we were informed that she was, in fact, the manager herself. This revelation was utterly disappointing and perplexing. It is deeply disheartening to encounter such abhorrent behavior from someone in a leadership position, especially in an establishment that prides itself on providing quality service.

I implore the management of Plaza Cafe to take a closer look at this incident and address the glaring issue of unprofessional conduct exhibited by their floor manager. Customer satisfaction should be paramount, and such rude and indifferent behavior has no place in a reputable establishment. Unless meaningful steps are taken to rectify this matter and ensure that all staff members uphold the standards of courtesy and respect, I regret to say that I cannot recommend Plaza Cafe to others.

In conclusion, while the coffee and waffles may have been satisfactory, the appalling behavior of the manager overshadowed any positive aspects of our visit. It is my sincere hope that this review serves as a wake-up call for Plaza Cafe to reevaluate its customer service practices and foster a more welcoming and respectful environment...

I was here for buffet breakfast as I was staying at the Crowne Plaza hotel. I found everyone to be friendly and helpful here and I was always seated quickly at breakfast. Incredibly rude waiter - don't expect good service. We were a large group and asked to be seated for drinks. The waitress/host was able to accommodate us. However, the incredibly rude waiter came outside and started waving his arms and said that we cannot just sit where we like. He did not try to speak with his colleagues before scolding us.
