Once again, I had the pleasure of dining at what I believe is the best Italian restaurant in Bruges: Amunì, beautifully located at the historic Burg 9, with its charming inner terrace.
As always, I was delighted. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the entire team radiates kindness. The service is warm, attentive, and always with a genuine smile – nothing is ever too much for them. You immediately feel at home. The food? Simply divine. Every dish transports you straight to Italy. The pizzas are full of flavor, the burrata with a hint of lemon and tomato was refreshing and elegant, and my carbonara was absolutely top-notch – rich, authentic, and perfectly prepared.
Of course, the evening wouldn’t have been complete without a golden glass of Ferrari wine – it added just the right touch of magic. For dessert, I had the best tiramisu I’ve ever tasted, along with a perfectly made cappuccino. To end the night, a sip of limoncello – delicious! My friends tried other Italian liqueurs, and everyone was equally enchanted. It truly felt like an evening filled with magic.
For the ambiance, the lovely staff, the exquisite cuisine, the cleanliness, and the beautiful setting, I wholeheartedly give Amunì 5 stars. A true gem in my city, and a place I recommend to everyone.
A heartfelt thank you to the warm, cheerful team who made our evening so special – you truly made a...
Read moreOur visit here was probably the highlight of our trip from a good standpoint. I am so glad we chose this place to eat our final dinner in Bruges.
The service was great and the food was incredible. Alex (thank you for the awesome discussion!) was the best. He didn’t keep bugging and checking in on you like a lot of restaurants do in the states which we enjoyed as we could just enjoy ourselves, our drinks, our food and only really be interrupted when it was necessary.
The drinks: nice selection of beers and a great wine selection as well. Alex will help suggest a good wine to have with your choice of food.
The food: We had ravioli with mushrooms and Parmesan sauce. This was a flavor party for sure. Perfect combination of everything came together on this dish. And then I had a sopressata, fior di latte (fresh mozz), and parsley pizza. The dough was freakin’ perfect. Crisp on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside with a perfect amount of char as well. It’s a sourdough crust too which adds a very nice depth of flavor as well. Also, one more note: their table EVOO was outstanding!
They use top notch ingredients and don’t skimp on their methodology. This is REAL food. Alex talked to us for a bit (after I asked a few questions) and was excited to explain the quality and passion that goes into their creations. It was excellent....
Read moreI must say from the beginning that this is my favorite place to eat in Bruges. However, I do not consider that I am biased. Amuni is an Italian place in the heart of Bruges, in the between of a restaurant, enoteca and trattoria. The equivalent in French would be a bistronomie. Not a bistro. The atmosphere can be convivial if one desires, since the staff is friendly and at ease. The staff is Italian and the products used are of exceptional quality, especially for a town as Bruges. Delicious cheese coming from low scale production, good salumi and very good Friulan prosciutto from San Danielle. The chef purposes as sides for the cold plates honey, nuts, artichokes.... Pizza based on a impeccable sourdough is contemporary spin on the traditional versions and can compete with the best pizzeria in Bologna. The vegetarian options make about half of the total 30 - 35 dishes on the menu. The wines are good, and soft drinks come from Italy so do not expect generic coca cola or Pepsi. It is not a cheap place, yet not expensive. Count around 50 Euro for a quick snack for 2 (pizza plus drinks) or 100 for two for an extended experience comprising starters, wines, watet and grappa as digestive.
Amuni is correct place, although sometimes it...
