This is a bit unusual in terms of flavours I'd say, I would have liked some more asian flavors. I sampled 3 flavors:
Jacko Wacko. I did not quite enjoy this one after the others, the flavours didn't wok well for me once the crispy bits were one.
3,. Deep Sea Baby - this was actually quite enjoyable. I think I don't like sea taste but maybe I do. Who knew!
Hot Chick - this was quite alright.
The hot chick had 2 chilis on the menu (hottest), the jacko wacko 1 chili (2nd hottest). I cannot confirm this, I did not notice any heat. Maybe I should have brought my own chilis and throw a handful in there.
I think 2-3 baos is the right size for me on a normal day, so probably 1-2 baos work for most people. I had to miss out on any sidekicks but since I may only be here once I felt it was worth more trying 3 different bao flavors. However I think the baos I picked are overall fairly similar in their combination just with different highlights.
The drink menu was a bit confusing, it wasn't clear to me that 'ritchie', 'whole earth' and others were brand names. I'd have liked to see a fresh ginger lemonade (this isn't hard, take the fresh ginger tea, add sugar and let it cool).
The place was not super busy at dinner time, it seems everyone was a couple meters away at Lui Lin, the sister restaurant (which had queues forming, and hence drove...

I ordered the steamed veggie dumplings, chicky bao, eggplant bao and, of course, a cold and delicious TsingTao beer. All incredible! The bao are larger than I thought and could've gotten away with one bao.
In addition to free wifi you don't have to ask for, you can scan, order & pay right at your table or ask questions (if needed) at the register and manage it all there. Either way, people are super kind and respect whatever path you go on.
The place seats approximately 32-36 people so it is initimate but not stuffy. They have soy, hot chili sauce and Sriracha off to the side if needed. Highly recommend this place (and their amazing sister restaurant, Liu Lin, a few blocks away). Enjoy (supporting this women-owned business in the hearts...
Read moreThe place looks amazing, the concept is lovely. I loved all the funny posters hanging around. The staff was super nice, the guy working that day deserves all the goods.
Regarding the food - I admit I haven’t tried the main dish of the house, which is bao bun. All three of us proceeded with bigger dishes. Theoretically bigger as it turned out. We did not really go out full nor content.
My dish was in my opinion the best out of three we took. Mine was the bigger dish with bruised aubergine and chicken which was delish. No major complaints here apart from the size. Second dish I tried was gyros fries but it was so salty my friend could barely finish them. And the last dish was peanut noodles which were definitely too mild in taste, quite bland as if it was watered down peanut butter. The drinks were...
