Davi Thai, Thai restaurant owned by Vietnamese. We went to visit this with our Thai partners. Our first encounter was a menu full of Thai grammar mistakes.
1 hour in the restaurant we finally received our food and what we encountered next was NOT Thai at all. The food didn't look right, the food didn't taste right. Nothing like authentic Thai.
We thought the food we got was a wrong order but after confirmation from the kitchen it was wat we ordered. Our Thai partners not recognizing the food by sight and taste explains it all.
Prices on the menu are not that high but translates on very little portions on your plate. Very little chicken and a lot of sauce or soup. Sauce or soup with a completely wrong taste! Rice tasting as if it was 1 day old or reheated. Water on the other hand was pretty pricy going for €7,8 per bottle of 1L.
If your looking for authentic Thai you will be walking out here very disappointed. For some people the food might actually be good as the taste is not bad, but it's not Thai at all.
The first server spoke French, Dutch and English. The one later didn't understand us. You must be lucky with the server. They are kinda friendly but sometimes pretty noisy and disturbing the peace atmosphere. Restaurant kinda cozy and warm but even here little to no Thai decorations.
Conclusion: Nothing is authentic Thai in this restaurant, only the THAI in the restaurant name.
2 stars because we got very disappointed about the Thai food not looking and tasting like...
Read morePros: -decor is amazing -fresh ingredients Yellow curry: -perfect level of spiciness -super tender chicken -savoury with a hint of sweetness in the sauce Pad Thai: -prawns were perfectly cooked Entrées : -porc dumplings melts and taste great -spring rolls were also tasty Dessert : -coco tart had an adequate amount of sugar and the tart had consistency that mixes well with the sugar
Cons: -service is a bit slow but it was during rush hour -could be more generous with the portions -pad thai was a bit blend, shame as it's a thai restaurant. -I don't think they use fresh pineapple for their beignet, it could have tasted more sweet and sour
Overall would recommend, just don't take the pad Thai and the entrées were very tasty. We paid around 90eur for 3 entrées, 2 meals, 2 desserts, 1/2L of wine and...
Read moreI used to be a constant visitor to this place. And the reason was simple, 'food tasted good'.
But, one fine evening, as we wanted to have some Thai delicacies, we thought visiting this restaurant. It was an awful evening. Not only the person who made us sit down was rude, another waiter who was taking others order passed lure comments and asked us to speak slowly. To my surprise, we were talking to the pitch usually everyone has in the evening at a crowded place or full fetched restaurant.
We decided to come out without eating. Its sad that we have people that discriminate today and misbehave.
Going forward, we decided not to visit this restaurant. The restaurant opposite served equally good food, while staff were friendly...
