The reception was really helpful and nice. We got room on the fifth floor and it wasn't that bad. Obviously didn't expect room ceiling be lower on the half of the room because that made room feel smaller. There was a window that we kept open the whole time because of the mold smell from the bathroom and also the carpet smell. The carpet was probably older then my whole family haha but whatever. What trew us of was the mold in the bathroom everywhere you look. Shower head was barely working and holding on for its dear life haha. Overall it was whatever as we stayed for 3 nights and mostly didnt stay in our room as we was out the whole day till late. The location is the best thing about the hotel and also staff was really nice. Also be aware that it's really loud at night from the street and bars around so you have to close window to be able to sleep and you still hear everything. I mean you can't expect 5star hotel from 3 stars so I would say it's ok if you don't plant to stay in your room. P.s. there's a bakery around the corner in the left and they make best fresh pastries straight from the oven. Also there's a Korean place to eat called "Soju Bar" highly recommend to visit. And there's other place for breakfast "Swalty-Crepe" that you must visit!

This is my second time staying at Hotel Dansaert, and I remain just as impressed. The location is excellent . you can walk to all the main tourist attractions, making it a great value for the price. Everything is spotlessly clean, and the service is extremely friendly and welcoming. I especially want to highlight the kindness of the receptionist, who surprised me by offering a room with a balcony without me even asking. That thoughtful gesture made all the difference. Whenever I return to Brussels, this will be my hotel of choice.

A dilapidated and unhygienic shack. The first room I was offered had black mold covering the bathroom ceiling (see picture). The second room had such thin walls that I had to listen to the conversations and singing (!) of both neighbors until well after midnight. The corridors were dirty and all carpets were full of ominous stains. Breakfast in the morning offered scrambled eggs that were completely gray inside, seemingly moldy as well. The employees were nice. I do not recommend this hotel at all.

You better watch your credit cards

Desperate for cash, the take unauthorised from credit cards (more below) When having a closer look you see this business must have a serious cash problem. It starts with the lift which needs desperate repair and that you get provided one small bottle of water for a 4 days stay for tea and to drink. The two provided faked nespresso coffee capsules are always damaged, surely bought on the cheap like this.

CAREFUL: this manifests is a cash desperation. They took from company credit card the amount for 4 nights whole team. For whatever reason system considered this request as fraudulent and blocked it. Night porter made a huge fuss and did almost not let us stay. Despite full day congress schedule we tried to fix but they forced credit cards from staff members and made several desperate attempts to take money from them, despite our explanation that we will fix this when the bank is open again. They could not even stop to force our student intern providing her card and had several attempts to get the full amount from her. Then, when returning late at night from the congress we have been locked out from our room and only with some serious discussions and threats they let us back into our rooms.

The next morning all was paid but their apologies and excuses have not been credible. We have been offered for the last day free breakfast, which most of us did not accept. Instead we thought to have in the afternoon a cup of tea, but even this they insisted to be charged.

After all of this we thought that the few printouts would have been a courtesy of the hotel. But not of them as they charged us almost 60 euros without any prior warning.

They are really desperate for cash. Brussels is a very busy destination hence even such a three star joint can charge 5 star prices. But our recommendation is watch you credit card when staying there....

HEALTH HAZARD / THIEVING, EXPLOITATIVE HOTEL – AVOID AT ALL COSTS||||I should have trusted the reviews before staying here. This “hotel” is nothing but a health hazard and a scam. I was given an uninhabitable room: 35°C heat, no working ventilation, single-glazed windows that didn’t close, and a bathroom stinking of mould with black mould on the ceiling. It’s 2025 — how does a so-called hotel not even have double glazing as a basic standard? Pure greed from the owners.||||The advertised “air conditioning” was a fake device that did nothing. I had to keep the door wide open just to breathe. When I complained, the rude receptionist first admitted I could get a refund “no problem,” then suddenly changed his tune, refused to provide proof, pretended not to understand English, and blocked me from speaking to the manager. He even harassed me by calling the room phone repeatedly to rush me out as I packed. I was essentially kicked out and forced to pay £200+ for a last-minute room elsewhere.||||Booking.com confirmed my stay was cancelled by their partner agency, and Dansaert even admitted in writing they would refund me. A month later, no refund. Booking.com says the hotel has the money. The lies and contradictions are endless.||||This isn’t about the £100 I paid — it’s about fraud, dishonesty, and zero humanity. My Brussels-based friend witnessed everything and was equally shocked. I have now reported Dansaert Hotel to the authorities for health and safety violations.||||Judging by the huge number of other negative reviews, this place is a serial offender. It should be shut down under EU law. Stay away if you value your health, your money, and...
