When we stepped in, the lady was very welcoming. She could speak English so we thought it would be safe to order. When we wanted to order, she asked the young man to take our orders while she chatted away with another customer who was only having drinks. The young man could pnly speak Vietnamese and his English was very poor. We asked for red curry instead of green curry which he understood. Then we ordered Tom yum. To be sure he didn't mix it up we said Tom yum no curry. We even pointed to him the Tom yum we wanted as there was a similar dish Tom ka (which had curry). He said he understood. But when he served us, we ended up with red curry and the Tom kha which we specifically did not want. We had said many times Tom yum no curry. He told us, no we had ordered Tom kha and both he and the lady gave us a hostile attitude. They just stayed away from us like we were a bug! The lady ignored us and left the place abruptly when we tried to get her to interpret. We didn't touch the Tom Kha. When it was time to pay the bill, the young man left abruptly too (he was just standing outside). And another man served us the bill.
The service was terrible. The food wasn't that great. If you're eating here, just be sure that they understand you. Be sure they repeat the order. And if the food is not what you ordered,...
Read moreWe recently booked a family dinner at Fanny Thaï and had a mixed experience. Opting to sit near the big window, the staff made some adjustments for our comfort, which was appreciated. The dining area has a cozy and comfortable ambiance.
We ordered red Thai chicken curry, yellow Thai chicken curry, and from the vegetarian menu, fried soya cakes with vegetables. Unfortunately, the food did not meet our expectations. The rice was served in a single bowl for two portions of curry, which seemed insufficient. No one came to the table to ask if more rice was required, so we understood that was the limit of rice. The chicken in the curries was a bit undercooked, and the soya cakes were over-fried. Despite these being staff recommendations, the food quality was disappointing, suggesting room for improvement.
After our dinner, the staff cleared the dishes but did not clean the table, leaving particles and drops of food behind.
On a positive note, the staff members Carlos and David were very cordial and attentive. However, the restrooms were a major letdown—they were stinking, had water-soaked floors, and were generally untidy.
Overall, while the service was commendable, the food quality and restroom conditions left much to be desired. We hope the owner takes these points as constructive feedback for...
Read more'0' stars if I couldExtremely unsurly and unprofessional staff that turned us away by seeing that we had our travel bags with us. There were many tables, patently available but he maintained that we could not be sat. I shortly confirmed after leaving if I could have a table for 4 on the phone, the person answered and said there was table vacancy. This goes to show you that the staff working behind the counter need to be more empathetic, considerate and trained for sensitivity without judgement. Highly unprofessional, and judgemental service that needs to be averted from patronising and supported . Earnest request to the owner - please know that your staff must be appropriately trained and coached to avoid such prejudiced behaviour. Hope this is taken in the right stride and as constructive criticism from someone that has traveled the world, eaten at a variety of cuisines and is able to provide critical commentary. Folks, for now, please avoid this place until fundamental changes are made. There are a raft of similar cuisines next door that I...
