Crush is our favorite place for date night. Beautifully decorated, petit restaurant located in a quiet square serving Belgian-French cuisine with a menu that changes seasonally and a good wine selection. Highly recommended! Best to reserve in advance!
We've eaten in this restaurant since they've opened (forgot when exactly but probably a year ago). We've met the owners who were very enthusiastic speaking with their clients and about the menu and recommendations. In our most 2 recent visits, we saw that they now have a hired staff who are professional and attentive to your needs, I would say I do miss the friendly vibe with the owner. Nonetheless, the service is good.
As for the food, we typically order an entrée to share (16-20€) and each a plate (25-40€) partnered with wines or cocktails depending on how we feel. Generally, we are very happy about the quality and quantity of the food and wine we ordered.
For this review, I will talk about the food during our most recent visit this week. For drinks, we ordered negronis. We ordered the sardines to start (16€). These are sardines in a can served with butter and some crackers on the side. Never had these before in my life and it was a great combination! I did find that there weren't enough crackers for the quantity of the sardine so we asked for extra bread😅
For main dishes, I took the Turbot (35€) and my partner took the Eel in green sauce (27€). My Dish came with a side of fries and salad. The turbot was perfectly cooked! Crispy skin on the outside and soft, fatty fish inside. I enjoyed it alot bit I would've appreciated something to cut the greasy/fatty taste since the sauce they provided was a bearnaise (also based on butter). Maybe something citrus-y? The salad and a cup of white wine helped with that.
Overall, I would come again to keep discovering new dishes from...
Read moreWe had a really great experience at this restaurant. We were just the two of us and wanted to try a variety of dishes, so we shared several small plates instead of ordering main courses. Each dish was a pleasant surprise — delicious and refined. Nothing felt basic or rushed; you could really taste the care and effort put into every plate.
The desserts were equally impressive — full of flavor and beautifully presented.
The only (very minor) downside was that we felt the wait between courses was a bit long. That said, the dishes came out in pairs, which made for a cozy and enjoyable way to share and eat together.
All in all, a memorable meal — we’ll definitely be...
Read moreAmazing to chance upon Crush as one of the most memorable meals in Brussels! They open 6 months ago and already this petit restaurant is busy! It's a small and intimate place run by husband and wife and staff, so please be very patient as the food is worth waiting for. If you made a reservation and can't make it, best to call them and give your table away as they also have to accommodate walk-in customers. We had mussels with green curry, a refreshing affair compared to other restaurants, cuisses de grenouilles (frog legs) and the main plats, canard was wonderful. We had good wine pairing and were very satisfied with the meal...
