The Fontaine Anspach is a fountain in the north west of Brussels at one end of a large rectangular pool, in Quai aux Briques on Rue Locquenghien. The centrepiece of the fountain is an obelisk, surrounded by fantastical dragon figures, nymphs and topped with Saint Michael casting out poor Lucifer in a scene from war in heaven. Near the base of the obelisk are two larger than life size female sculptures. One of the women represents the municipal magistracy, holding a rudder in one hand and a snake on the other, a symbol of prudence. The other female sculpture represents wisdom and justice, with an owl, symbol of wisdom associated with Athena and set of scales her feet. It’s a little off the main tourist circuit, but is a major landmark in Brussels and worth a look

Its an art installation just out of the centre of town. Not much going on today but its worth a few minutes of your time if your in the area and the weather is decent. Not sure why the rubber ducks all bar 1 were covered up. Ideal place to meet anyone or sit and enjoy a drink id the weather is pleasant.

Wonderful fountain, the pond looks very nice for it is quite long; all sculptures are very well crafted and very ingenious. The square is peaceful and quite so it is nice to spend relaxing time while listening the water springing from the fountain.
