Strofilia is an amazing place in the Brussels city centre. The dishes are simple but the quality of the products is just great. It is basically an experience of the Greek tastes in Brussels that brings u directly down in the south of Europe. The food is amazing, well served, u must share it with the other dining companions in order to try everything, to enjoy the company and to share tastes, thoughts, moments. The restaurant is a Michelin restaurant, however is far away from those fancy, conceited and expensive environment, everything around u give the idea of a simple place, where to relax for the lunch time or the dinner time. At the end u will not get betrayed by Strofilia, the prices are totally fair and (in my humble opinion) not expensive at all for the experience u are gonna have. For any doubts there are always the waitress, amazing landlords the will guide u among the experience like Virgilio did with Dante in the divina commedia, u will never feel alone, u will never face the failure in taking something u don't like, u will eat the right amount of food and u will pay what is right. What else to say? I'm sorry but do not take a lot of pictures... I ate everything. Enjoy...
Read moreInteresting place. We've been three times over the years, so I'm reasonably happy to post a review. The place is a very popular Greek styled restaurant in the center of Brussels. It has the typical choice of Greek styled food, and a very friendly staff to help you out if you need help choosing.
The main concept is based around Mezes, which I'm sure I don't need to explain. In my humble opinion, it's a frustrating practice which ends up leaving you with small bites of food (especially if you're a table of 4+, but never a proper chance to really enjoy the choices on the table. You could indeed order two portions, but it might be too much (and naturally twice the price).
Lastly and most important, the noise in the restaurant is almost impossible to cope with - hence the 2 stars. If you're a couple sitting face-to-face, then I'm sure that's fine. However, if you're a table of five or six (etc), get ready to spend the evening asking people at the other end of the table to repeat themselves many times.
If you like ambience, this is a good restaurant to go to in the center of Bruxelles as the Strofilia seems happy to pack them in, not unlike the tourist places around the...
Read moreWhat can I say? Haven't eaten Greek that well in a long time!
We ended up here spontaneously for our wedding anniversary and were lucky to get the only free table and only because someone canceled. So it's worth making a reservation, even on a Tuesday evening!
Very nice ambience, with each room being unique!
Clear menu with really authentic Greek dishes. In addition, there was a short explanation and recommendation from the owner.
The individual dishes are prepared in such a way that they can be shared! Perfect for a social gathering!
I can definitely recommend the fried octopus and the black pork!
The homemade ice cream at the end was to die for! I still don't really know what that taste was, but it was terrific! The nice girl in the service called it "Salepi" - haha.
The service staff were generally super nice and really courteous!
Priced more than fair for the quality and quantity!
Thank you for the beautiful and special evening! We'll be...
