My wife and I had dinner at Le Selecto to celebrate her birthday. I discovered the restaurant through the Michelin Guide, and it lived up to its reputation. Le Selecto’s unique concept — blending the casual charm of a bistro and brasserie with the refined quality of fine dining — is simply brilliant. We often find long, multi-course dinners tiresome, yet 1-2 course meals sometimes lack the finesse and depth we enjoy. This place strikes the perfect balance. We opted for the three-course set menu. The duck breast, sea bass, and gnocchi were all exceptional. The bourbon vanilla mousse was a standout — truly unforgettable (though I can’t recall the exact menu names). Service was prompt, attentive, and extremely polite. The decor and ambiance were both warm and elegant, making the entire dining experience even more enjoyable. Prices are very reasonable for the quality and experience offered. We wholeheartedly recommend Le Selecto — 100%.

This place had amazing food, and that's where it stops. The service was dismal to say the least. No proper greeting, no care at all, and worst of all dismissive. The specials board was decieving and blatantly misleading. We thought according to the board that they were offering a lunch special of fois gras for 9 euro. But the waiter did not bother to mention it was the regular menu fois Gras of 15 euro, plus this special with 9 euro added to the price. So each fois gras was 24 euro which was not at all explained. When we questioned the bill they talked down to us and when we did finally pay they didn't even say goodbye or anything. What a terrible rip-off. Avoid this place and hit up the wine bar around the corner instead.

Despite my partner & I not speaking a word of French and the restaurant not having an English menu (thank god for the image option on Google translate haha) we had a delightful meal at this cute little restaurant in Brussels. Though it’s a fairly posh ‘fine dining’ restaurant we received some complimentary bread, crispy bread chips & a small pot of guacamole which was a nice touch. My partner & I shared the beef teriyaki to start which was exquisite, very delicious. For mains I had the chicken with delightfully creamy mash & my partner had the pork tenderloin. Both dishes were beautifully presented and equally tasty. If you’re looking for a modern French fine dining experience then this is the place for you!

You can choose to go there or you can choose to skip it. We went there and we regretted it. 1) we had the option to be placed next to the entrance (not great with people coming in and out) or at the bar. We love being seated at the bar so we chose that option. Nice butter and some pepper hummus only to find out the great quantity of flies they had. Even if servers saw us trying to kill them and we even complained about them, they laughed and said that it is what it is. What we think is that it’s disgusting to be eating (or just sitting in a restaurant) that is infested by flies and that you deal with it as it’s nothing. 2) the entrees were ok, nothing spectacular. The mains were not. The Ă©chine of pork that’s supposed to have been slow cooked for 8h is like rubber. It’s tough and tasteless. It comes with a ratatouille without any interest. The veal something is chewy and comes with green beans. We said that I can’t have green beans and to give me some salad instead (I’m highly intolerant to them, sent the list beforehand) as one of their items in their menu includes it (the burger, cƓur de laitue). Instead the server comes with the green beans, returns it to the kitchen to comeback with the ratatouille that I did not even eat because I can’t have tomato’s either (on the list). So ended up eating 6 tiny portions of veal, that’s it. It also came with some gratin dauphinois that I did not touch because I can’t have potatoes either. They made it extremely difficult: from the side dish, to the texture of the “8h low temperature” pork (hard as a rock), to the ratatouille. 3) the price: go else where. Better restaurants in the same area with no flies and where you will lay have the price. For two entrees+main, one glass of wine and one small bottle of water, we paid 98€. There is so much more I can do. They never asked us if we enjoyed our meal. I guess our faces were descriptive enough. Don’t go there if you appreciate price-quality ratio. Except if you want to eat flies. Then you’ll be...

9/10 would come back here again if I were to ever come back to Brussels. Not one to go to a restaurant twice in a new city but this place was so good we made sure to make this our last meal in Brussels before we left. We did not know the menu changes weekly as we initially decided to come back the second time cause we loved our meal the first time and kind of wanted the same thing. But trust me—we were not disappointed the second time with our main meals.

The reason I didn’t give this 5 stars was for the fact that they don’t seem to make enough of their desserts they offer on the menu as both times we showed up we were disappointed in the fact that each time the dessert we really wanted was not available. The first time I was like eh well that blows but the second time I was just really annoyed. I could see how this would keep them from having a Michelin star because like in a city like Brussels how do you now prepare enough desserts?

The other desserts we did have were fantastic but again just annoyed at the fact that both times the desserts we wanted were not available.

For the price of a 3 course meal here- I’d repeatedly come back here.

Make enough desserts for service so you guys can get your...

Where do you go when you’re hungry? To a restaurant, right. And that’s what I did last summer. I was walking around in Brussels, and got hungry. That’s when I discovered Le Selecto, an absolute marvel.

The menu is original and varied. There is something for every taste. People have the opportunity to choose between delicious dishes, adapted to the current season. Fresh products with good quality. What more can we ask for?

The personnel is really nice and friendly. They are always smiling, and make sure to please every client as well as possible. You can actually see them cooking, which makes it more enjoyable for the client. This provides a very pleasant atmosphere.

The restaurant is well located. It’s situated near the Sainte Catherine main square, where you can find a beautiful fountain. It’s very calm and pleasant, especially for a little walk for example. If you want to enjoy good food in a calm area, this restaurant is the place to be.

It’s pretty clear that I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone. You can never go wrong by going there. Low prices, high quality products and lovely personnel: that’s the secret of a...
