I went to eat here on a girls trip. We also found a discount code to eat here! I arrive before my friends and the restaurant looked great. They gave me good advice on the wines they had and I enjoyed my pick. The problem arrived when we had our main course and one of us didn’t have jalapeños. She just asked for some jalapeño. When the server came back, she started to explain something in rapid French. Mind you, we don’t speak the language, we’ve communicated with her in English, but we do understand a little French when someone speaks slowly. The only thing I’ve heard was that is would me 5 euro’s. I look at my friend and she says that’s fine. 5 euro’s is a lot for a couple of slices of jalapeño. It took a while before she came back with a plate, which we found odd. We didn’t just get jalapeño, but there were sauces with it. She just dropped the plate at our table and walked away without saying anything, which resulted in me burning my hand, because she didn’t tell me the plate was hot… My (very pregnant) friend tasted the sauce with jalapeño and said “I can’t eat this, because this is very salty”. We told the server this and she called the manager/owner. In stead of tasting the sauce, she went into an angry discussion with us, that the sauces are premade and it can’t be salty, because our dishes were made with the same sauce. So we tasted the sauces of our dishes and the sauce she brought us and the new sauce was definitely a lot more salty. She kept on denying and made us pay for jalapeño’s with sauce, which we didn’t ate. It wouldn’t have been a problem if she at least said sorry, but her completely denying that something went wrong in the kitchen was just ridiculous. We are all humans and we make mistakes.
Because of this the service gets 2 stars. They started out good, but the middle and end was so weird…
If we look at the decor, it’s nice, so 4 stars.
The food was below average for a HOMECOOK!!! So absolutely not restaurant worthy. I make these dishes better at home, but because we got a 50% discount with the deal, they get 3 stars.
I would not return or recommend,...
Read moreI don’t know if the reviews here are paid for or what, but this is far from being an authentic Mexican restaurant or even to be considered “Mexican” food. I ordered the chorizo burrito, and you would expect ground pork meat or something, no, instead they serve it with cut pieces of basically salami (that’s not Mexican)…. I’m assuming also most people who have left reviews never been or know what Mexican food is. The staff is nice, but the owner is delusional. I was charged the wrong bill because the guy didn’t even let me see the receipt, he just printed it out never handed it to me, and then when we were about to leave brings another bill to us?! So he made a mistake, I followed him inside, as he’s checking his system, I asked him for a copy what he charged me, he gave me a bad attitude and tried to speak to me with a firm voice telling me to sit down and wait… so you make a mistake, and you speak badly to your customer? No...
Read moreOne of the worst experience I had in a restaurant. TheFork Conditions are not respected for the prices.
Unfortunately, our dinner at wallen was catastrophic due to the behavior of the manager. We booked through TheFork with a 50% discount on the menu "à la carte", but when it was time to pay, only a 30% discount was applied on some dishes included in the menu as advertised, despite the in the Fork app is clearly indicated a 50% discount on the entire menu. When we pointed out the discrepancy, the manager was extremely rude, arrogant and didn't explain politely why the 50% offer was not completely granted.
It was disappointing because at the contrary the waitress was very friendly with us and viceversa. Furthermore the service was good as well as the food. However, the manager’s reaction and lack of professionalism left us without words. The evening ended badly. Advice: you should avoid to book...
