Mum fiancé and I dined here for my fiancé’s birthday. We were looking for unique yet cozy restaurant and we happened to find this restaurant where many people have given many praised about this place.
The restaurant is small but cozy and many wines are displayed in the restaurant (it’s wine house after all). The price range of the wines are mid to high range. At first sight it seems like not so many people go here at 6PM but many people tend to have late dinner. So you can expect more crowd around 7PM. For those people who are planning to dine here after 7PM then I would strongly recommend making reservation by calling them on advance.
The staffs were very friendly. The person who answered the phone for my reservation gave a friendly vibe and so as the waiter who served us. They were attentive and service was great!
We only took main dishes and those were very unique presented and made! You don’t just see it in any Italian restaurant and on my in real one! as for the portion for pasta was a lot and it was very delicious (so as the swordfish). To finish our dining we did order desserts but it was just too much even though it was also great.
If we have another special occasion we would love to dine here again (even though there are a lot of great restaurants in Brussels but this is one of my favourite one)! Only down side was it might accept Ednered but they didn’t accept Sodexo even though I confirmed it during my reservation if they accept it . But the machine kept on rejecting it. Who knows it’s the fault of Sodexo app for point out that this restaurant accepts it and actually it doesn’t...
Read moreAfter reviewing wine bars in Brussels, we (two of us) decided to give this place a go on our last day here. Inside was very quaint, stylish and cosy. We asked to sit outside, and the man (whom I presume was the owner) smirked condescendingly while asking if we had a reservation. Upon hearing that we didn’t, he made it a point to seat us in a table around the corner from the restaurant, in a desolate alleyway, although the table we in initially asked about remained vacant for the entirety of our stay. After looking at the wine list, the waiter (same aforementioned man) presumptuously took the wine list out of my hands, stating, “if you’re not a wine connoisseur then don’t look at the menu, I will recommend something.” In actual fact, we played dumb but are very well travelled, familiar wine drinkers. I found this extremely rude and almost offensive to presume that we didn’t know what we were looking for. I’m interested to know what made the waiter presume that? In actual fact, the wine (that WE chose) was superb, I can’t say otherwise. The charcuterie board, on the other hand, wasn’t great. For €24 I’d expect a lot more. I hope that this is taken as constructive. Please don’t presume, just by looking at someone, that they don’t know what wine they want, and serve real meat- not cat food purée, and fatty...
Read morebefore reading this, i’d advise the person interested in dropping by this restaurant to take a minute and actually read this review. As someone who has personally had their fair share of italian cuisine from the italian riviera to sicily to bologna to naples to the tourist italian bistros of new delhi, this is by far the worst italian food i’ve ever tasted. not only was the gnocci undercooked (that’s a very generous underestimation, let’s just say it was straight up raw balls of dough), but the waitress had the audacity to tell my friends and i that we’re complaining because we don’t understand ‘authentic’ italian cuisine. just to clarify, are you calling yourselves authentic because your chef holds an italian passport? needless to say, just because you’re italian doesn’t mean you can cook gnocci…. the same logic applied to indians like myself who can’t cook butter chicken for the life of us. something else that merits further attention was the mould on our cheese (and no, it wasn’t blue cheese, it was straight up forged from a rabie’s den). i really hope this restaurant shuts down because i’m writing this review on the way back from the emergency room due to a gastritis attack (that the doctors specified was triggered because of food poisoning the preceding...
