Barrazza café — Restaurant in Ghent

Probably the dirtiest place I have ever eaten in my life.

The street must not have been cleaned since the beginning of the 20th century and the floor is full of putrefied food remains.

But the worst thing is that everything is full of cigarette butts, cobwebs, dead insects and they have a cat.

My food took more than 40 minutes to arrive and it was full of cat hair and spores which had me with a brutal allergy for several days.

They don't have food for vegans or those allergic to milk.

It's a nice cafe along the canal. You can sit outside and enjoy the view or you can enjoy the same view from inside the restaurant too!

The interiors look cozy as well, even though we were seated outside, since it was a wonderful day!

Service is prompt and very friendly.

The only issue I had there is because I have an issue with smells and that was the smells of the sewers, for which nothing can be done. 🤷🏽‍♀️.

In any case, it was a lovely experience and I would go there again if the occasion arises.

Wandered here by accident, looking for somewhere to sit down and grab a bite to eat. There was a constant stream of customers while we were there.

Sat outside opposite the door, but they do have riverside seats as well. The menu had some good choices, we went for ham and cheese toastie and cheese croquettes.

The food was lush, and reasonably priced (~€20 for food and a soft drink for two), and the staff were really friendly too.

Definitely a place to visit, sit near the river and watch the world go by with...
