Casa de las tapas — Restaurant in Ghent

My wife and I came here on our first wedding anniversary last weekend (travelling from UK). I had booked in advance as it's only a little place. From the moment we walked in, the wonderful hostess seemed genuinely pleased to see us. We were greeted in such a warm way and seated in a cozy corner which was perfect. I am vegetarian, but there were plenty of options. Everything was delicious, we particularly loved the beetroot salad. Highly recommend and we will definitely come back here when we return to Ghent. Thank you for making our anniversary...

After I made a nice selection of tapas, the waitress asked me if I was a ‘good’ eater, ie I was having a large appetite. That made me feel really good as she apparently cared about whether I could finish it or not, risking that I would redraw part of the order. Service was good, wine was ok and so was the food. Place to come back to. An absolute must to order: the red beet, it was a very nice surprise and also great recommendation...

It is a cozy place, old architecture perfect mixed with Spanish vibes. The food is really good. A lot of variety and quality. The best way to enjoy all the flavors is to get the “Surtido De Tapas”, for $27 per person you get a sample of almost all the tapas in two course , cold and hot in the end.
