⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Must-Visit Gem: L’Artisan is a Masterclass in Bakery Bliss

As the owner of Grounded All Day Cafe in Lexington, Kentucky, we strive for great food and wonderful service — and we seek it out wherever we go. On our trip to Bermuda, we absolutely found it at L’Artisan.

Stepping into L’Artisan feels like crossing the threshold into a charming corner of Europe — the air rich with the scent of butter, espresso, and the kind of care that only comes from true culinary craftsmanship.

Let’s start with the ham and cheese croissant — a golden, flaky marvel that shatters delicately with each bite, revealing warm layers of perfectly melted cheese and savory ham tucked inside like a secret. It’s not just breakfast — it’s comfort, elegance, and satisfaction wrapped in a pastry.

The chocolate rollover? An absolute showstopper. Rich, tender, and not overly sweet, it manages to be both indulgent and sophisticated — the kind of thing you savor slowly, secretly hoping no one asks for a bite.

And then there’s the lemon tart. My goodness. It’s sunshine on a plate. Bright, silky, with just the right snap of citrus and a buttery crust so delicate you wonder how it doesn’t just float away. This dessert doesn’t whisper flavor — it sings. Loudly. In perfect pitch.

As for the coffee — made to perfection. Balanced, bold, and smooth, it stood proudly alongside the food rather than fading into the background. A rare feat in most cafés.

The space itself is immaculate, tastefully designed, and genuinely welcoming. But what elevated the experience most was the staff. Kind, attentive, and genuinely warm — they went out of their way to be generous and gentle with our children, making us feel not just welcome, but truly cared for. That kind of hospitality is priceless.

In short, L’Artisan is a treasure — a place where every detail matters, every flavor is intentional, and every guest feels like a regular. If you haven’t been, go. If you have, go again. This is what a...

L’Artisan is simply the best. If you are looking for the best pastries for breakfast( the croissants are like you are eating them on the streets of Paris), perfect morning meeting spot, fresh breads that are always warm and fresh, incredible sandwiches for lunch, or the perfect pastry to satisfy the sweet tooth, there is no where better. The seeded sourdough loaf is my favorite and yes .. I think I’ve tried them all!! The French chefs bring the real authentic French touch to everything made here and they even bring in their own special flour from France so these treats are really just incredible. There is usually always a line up when you walk in the door but don’t panic it goes quickly as the staff deal with everyone efficiently. Coffees are perfect and every type of milk is available ! Inside seating available although I’m sure if there was space to add additional indoor seating everyone would love that. Outside seating too to take the overflow. There is a downside… once you’ve tried their breads and pastries be prepared to loosen the belt a notch or 2 as you will be totally hooked on just...

I am French and when I arrived in Bermuda I was very excited to discover this bakery that would undoubtedly remind me of my country. But I was very disappointed by the service offered during my first visit. I asked for a pain au chocolat and a drink and they didn't ask me if it was on the spot or to take away and they put the pain au chocolat in a bag and when I said it was on the spot the saleswoman put the bag on my plate. I had to get up to get a napkin and a glass for my drink. I saw a comment that said that the waitresses were lazy and well I confirm lazy and a way to behave that is not worthy of this bakery. It's really a pity because the pastries are very good but the taste is not enough when you pay such a price for a pain au chocolat or something else you expect to be very well served. I went twice and both times I did not like the behavior of the staff so I will not come back. In short: incompetent staff! But...

Let me start by saying that since I was a child my favorite pastry is a plain butter croissant so I seek them out in every new place I visit. While this is not my first visit to Bermuda, this is my first visit to l’Artisan Boulangerie and it was terrific. I would say that it’s the best croissant in Bermuda. Crispy on the outside, chewy, soft and airy on the inside. I did notice that the point was wrapped under the base of the croissant but maybe that is better. This is a new feature for me. We also had a chocolate fold and it was awesome. It might be nice to warm them up? But that did not even occurs to me until now. Thank you for the great pastries. It’s a “must try” for a Bermuda visit. I heard the owner is actually French! Oh and the place is spotless and the people are friendly. I just care about croissant 😂

If you’re in Bermuda you must make this place a priority! My husband and I have been vacationing in Bermuda since our honeymoon in 1986 and have visited about 25 times. We always look to see what is new and were so excited to discover this amazing bakery in the heart of Hamilton. EVERYTHING! AND I MEAN EVERYTHING IS SCRUMPTIOUS! Step inside and you’re transported to France for the most delectable experience! Croissants, breads, pastries, sandwiches and my personal favorites Chouquettes and olive loaf! But you can’t go wrong with whatever you choose! Excellent coffee too! An asset to Bermuda! Buy for yourself and buy for your friends! We bought some goodies for our hostess and her family and they were thrilled!
