Podrum — Restaurant in MZ Donja Mahala

This place is a must visit in case you are on your vacation in this beautiful city. The restaurant itself is located on a main road of old town in Mostar and it is run by a small family. They put high effort, passion and love in their food, which me and my girlfriend had chance to taste. We had a beef patty with cheese and veal brochettes and they both tasted amazing!! The dining experience was rather ordinary, with the food not standing out. The restaurant was surprisingly empty when I ordered a full meal along with a beer. Unfortunately, the service left much to be desired. While I was leisurely enjoying my beer, one of the waiters rushed me unnecessarily, even though the place was nearly deserted. I ended up eating there solely because they accepted card payments, and it was towards the end of my trip in Bosnia. There are way better places with better views & better food, avoid this...

The first night I got to Mostar, I tried having dinner here but it seemed everyone arrived at once. The wait time was way too long.

The following night though, I went a bit earlier and asked for a table, which was reserved for me on the patio. Dinner was great - I had the grilled fish and some house wine. I have to say, the house wine was truly "house wine"... If you know what I mean, you know... It tasted like 'home' for any European household that makes wine.

I would come here again. The waiter was great...
