Casablanca Night Club — Restaurant in Região Geográfica Imediata do Rio de Janeiro

Went in with my wife, after paying $50 cover to get in, but you get two free drinks each. 15 girls in the club when we walked in but no dancers. 20 mins in, with no waiter, walked to bar to see what I can get…..waiter, bartender and what may have been a manager stated that I could get: rum/coke, whiskey…I asked for tequila….they only had 1800 silver, 1800 gold and Don Julio and regular Jose Cuervo. I was told that the first three are bottle service only and JC is for shots. I asked if I could get shots and was told no….asked if I could trade 2 drink tickets for a shot, again told no. JC is shit tequila and should be pretty cheap. 5-10 more girls came in within next two hours but no one dances….they all stand around looking like they’re waiting on “customers” to show up. We got 4 cokes with our drink tickets and walked out with three of them unopened. Asked the doorman “what’s the deal” and he said they have one dance around midnight, one about 1:30 and one near 3. What the hell goes on in an “Adults Only Gentleman’s Club” if no one dances? Most “Action” we saw was when the 2” long cockroach ran across the floor and startled some of the girls. There are some hotties in there but it looks more like the Nevada Hoe Houses. Would definitely not recommend nor go back to this place. I am a pole dance student in the United States and since this club was less than a 2 min walk from my hotel, I decided to check it out. While the cover charge was more than reasonable at $20 (USD) to include two drinks. I have been here 2 hours and not one lady has danced. I do understand the club was not crowded but they could have done something. I paid money and am leaving very disappointed. They literally sat down the entire time unless they thought potential patrons were entering. If no one entered they went back to sitting. In the States the ladies do not go hard when the club is empty but they do have a set and are expected to take the stage and at the bare minimun shake something, walk around the pole....DO SOMETHING. This place is exactly what you think, if you're thinking about it you already know. This is not a dance club. Yes, girls will dance maybe once an hour but there really isn't space for it like a typical "gentleman's club". The process was pretty clear and straight forward once you started negotiating.
