GUA.CO - Jardins — Restaurant in Região Imediata de São Paulo

Pretty good place, simple food but good options. Grateful to be able to get burrito bowls in Brazil - wish they had a location in Salvador!

The menu is clear and labeled with vegetarian and gluten dietary labels. I stumbled through the ordering process with my limited Portuguese but it was mostly okay.

The “veggie” option was just squash and soy based meat substitute so I was wishing there were more actual veggies (like peppers or onions). Still the rice and beans were pretty good and the veggie option was delicious, just more sweet than I expected. Having toppings of jalapeño and chipotle spice added definitely helped!

I’d go back to try the hard shell tacos and other vegetarian options as the base.

I used to love this chain restaurant when it first opened, but over time, the food quality has steadily declined, and the portions have shrunk. They’ve replaced fresh guacamole with some industrial/processed guacamole-like sauce, and their fresh pico de gallo has turned into an odd, sweet tomato sauce.

⚠️ If this is a cost-cutting move, I worry it’ll backfire—customers like me won’t keep coming back. I’ve already decided to stop dining here and won’t be recommending it to my guests anymore. I hope they correct...

I bought the hardshell taco🌮 I think it's better to put on the plate at this point because putting on the taco stand doesn't hold the ingredients to fall off and maing a huge mess on the tray. Of course I had to use forks to collect and eat FROM THE TRAY. So in that sense, it's not for the first date unless you can show your namorad@, creating mess and eating...
