Proposed fine dining, but fall short on how it delivers. The food in general is fine with some failures. The service is not on the level of the restaurant.
I'm a Brazilian living abroad visiting Brazil. This restaurant was on my list to go. And here is the experience.
Arriving, we found out that the restaurant is providing a QR code menu. I'm not against it, but this is a fine restaurant... I reckon you should provide a proper menu. Because scrolling a wine list on a phone is not a good experience.
While we were searching the wine, we asked for sparkling water, and they removed the wine glasses before we ordered the wine.
We ordered the burrata with Ragu. Very well executed and good ragu, we ordered also the basket of bread, the breads were ok, nothing special.
For the mains, we had the Rotolone, the Milanesa, and the Filetto.
The Rotolone was very well executed, with nice flavours and textures. For me, it was the best dish of the night.
The Filetto, the meat, was pretty tough and chewy. The flavours were intense, in general, ok.
The Milanesa, which was good on flavour but poor execution. The crus was soggy, not crispy in any way. That made the dish a little bit underwhelming.
For dessert, we had the tiramisu that had no flavour of coffee. The cotton candy was ok but very unbalanced due to the lack of bitterness of the coffee. And we had the vase. The vase was bad... the ganashe inside the vase was rock solid. That probably was in the fridge, and they didn't take it out on time. So made the experience pretty bad.
The coffees were made on a proper espresso machine. That was very positive.
Now the service, the staff seems they were not well trained for fine dining, from removing the wine glasses without asking, disappearing and just not delivering a good service in general. And they have a proper metri in the house. Very bad service for fine dining, we are paying a high price, so that should be the level of...
Read moreI went for the 6-course tasting menu with my girlfriend, and overall, the food and service were really good. I would happily go back. Here’s a quick breakdown of my experience:
Starters The two starters were simple but really tasty. You could clearly taste all the ingredients, and they blended really well together.
Main Courses Out of the three main dishes, I really enjoyed the first two.
The first dish was Goat Cheese Sacotini. The pasta was cooked perfectly, and the sauce was rich and delicious.
The second dish was Grilled Octopus with vegetables. The octopus was soft and cooked just right, and the grilled veggies added a great smoky flavor.
The third dish was Roasted Lamb. The lamb was super tender, but the sauce had a slightly burnt taste that wasn’t my favorite. However, everyone’s taste is different, so others might enjoy it more than I did.
Dessert The dessert was a creative version of tiramisu, and it looked amazing. The tiramisu itself was tasty, but the chocolate and cotton candy decorations were a bit too sweet for me. After a few bites, they overpowered the tiramisu flavor, making the whole dessert too sweet.
Overall, it was a great experience, and I would definitely go back to try other dishes...
Read moreTo me, it's much more of a spot for social media photos than for the actual taste of the food. It started off well, with good appetizers, but the main courses we ordered were quite disappointing.
We tried three different dishes: gnocchi, ravioli, and a Milanese. The gnocchi came with a truffle sauce that was overly rich and made it hard to finish. The Milanese was bland and also came with gnocchi that had an extremely strong flavor, making it just as difficult to eat. The one pleasant surprise was the brie cheese ravioli with pepper sauce, which was tasty but, again, overly rich.
The ambiance seemed nice, but our table was placed in a noisy outdoor section, which forced us to raise our voices, making a normal conversation nearly impossible without almost shouting. This only worsened an already loud environment.
Interestingly, nearly everyone in the restaurant had their phones out taking pictures, reinforcing my impression that this place is more about social media appeal than the dining experience itself.
I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone and have no...
