XI'AN restaurant. Been passing by this Chinese place with an ex Tous Les Jour kind of facade so many times. The broth of the steamed bread with mutton for 6.8usd was very strong but with a very firm foundation of MSG as well. Tons of bread with mung bean noodle and nicely cooked Mutton. One Seafood Bean Curd for 8usd was a sour soup thickened with starch. The balance of taste was ok, but again with firm MSG. This place is probably 4.0 from a normal perspective, but for me MSG influence is too big so it would be 3.5.

Hands down one of the best of the new wave of Chinese restaurants in Phnom Penh. It should be heaving with business every night – if only for the paomo (mutton soup) – but it appears not to have caught on. Go visit, be adventurous. Shaanxi cuisine is neglected...
