I usually dont give such low ratings, but I can't post zero stars. Let me tell you about this place. We came for some thai express (keyword EXPRESS) around 7pm. The store was empty except for one person on the phone in the customer eating area. Afrer waiting 5 mins at the counter (no one behind the desk) we thought the place must have been closed. A few more minutes of waiting and a small boy emerge from the employees only area. "Ok, great" we thought however I think we must have been invisible because he would quickly look up from his ipad POS then just as quickly look back down, ignoring us for another five minutes. When he was finished clicking away on his ipad he looked up at us and stayed silent. I wasn't sure whatbhe was doing then asked him if he was ready. He didn't look impressed. Anyway, we placed our order, a relatively large order and proceeded to wait for our food. Then the guy who was on his phone walked behind the counter and started to prepare our food (I don't recall him washing his hands - and he didn't wear gloves; check the pictures). Another two people popped out from the employee only area a few minutes later, an older lady and another young boy. The young boy proceed to walk to seating area and put his bare leg and shoes on top of the table (again - check the pictures) after snapping the pictures I noticed the guy making our food scratch his elbow then pick up a handfull of chicken, again no gloves. All in all I was pretty disgusted by this place and the people in there working said maybe 10 words to us in total. This place has the poorest customer service and hygiene standards I have seen in a long long time. Yuck!

Thai Express, Brampton I recently visited Thai Express in Brampton and ordered the Thai Shrimp Soup (spicy). Unfortunately, the experience left much to be desired. Firstly, the price was steep nearly $18 for a single bowl of soup. At that price point, I expected something substantial and flavorful. Instead, the soup was underwhelming. It contained only 5-6 shrimp and a scant few pieces of carrots and onions, with no additional vegetables to round out the dish. The taste was decent but far from remarkable. For the cost, I anticipated more complexity or richness in the flavor profile. The portion and ingredients felt lacking, making it hard to justify the price. Overall, while the soup wasn’t terrible, it didn’t meet the value or quality I hoped for. Thai Express might be convenient, but I’d think twice before ordering this dish again. Rating: 2.5/5

UPDATE: We went back 09/12 and had a much better experience so I changed my review from 1 to 4 stars. We received our full order and it was busy so our expectations were not high for customer service but we were glad that we were even given extra sauce packets for the thairacha item we ordered. The food was very hot, fresh and tasty, exactly as we expected. The place was fairly clean as well so we sat inside to eat.

January:

It looks like the workers couldn’t care less about the customers. The store is asking people to email them but how about retraining your workers, they obviously don’t care about their jobs or the food. They purposely didn’t give us parts of our order: missing 2 drinks, dumplings, no sauce for the dumplings, and no cutlery. I had to go back and forth from my car like 3 times and it was absolutely freezing outside. The worker gave no apologies and very hesitant to give me the rest of my order. When I asked very clearly and loudly that my order was missing items, another customer who walked in exclaimed, “whaat? They’re not giving you what you ordered??” And he walked straight out and talked to other customers about to enter the restaurant to beware the very cheap and uncaring workers. He said it’s obvious there is some prejudice here and so they definitely wouldn’t treat a black man well and I agreed! Maybe the workers will treat an asian customer better because they know the cuisine and the culture? I have no idea but the assumption is there because the workers are definitely treating customers unfairly.

These other people he talked to went to a neighboring restaurant and Thai Express lost customers immediately. I suggest you do something ASAP about your workers because a lot of people won’t be returning here, including me.

As much as I love the food at this location (most notably the signature pad thai dish), I must say that the service and staff are abominable and something needs to be done straight away to avoid customers boycotting their establishment :S

My husband and I frequent this Brampton location at least a couple of times a month, usually on Saturdays and for some reason, every single time we show up (usually between 2-4pm), the manager and staff are always sitting in a group together, eating lunch. For starters, you'd think the more efficient way to take a break would be to have one staff member lunching at a time, rather than having ALL of them be tied up at once.

When we walk in, we are not even noticed for the first few minutes and have to stand by the cash register before someone even comes to take our order. Once they do get up...wow. You'd think they'd be happy to get customers but they really just look disgruntled and inconvenienced to have to leave their lunch to come look after customers!

On one occasion, the manager himself even raised his voice quite rudely at my husband when he didn't answer him immediately about which drink he wanted. I was pretty shocked at this, because his attitude was so impatient and rude and I couldn't understand why. As soon as he cashed us out and delegated the order to the cook, he rushed right back to his lunch table to keep eating! Honestly it was pretty obvious that they were rushing as fast as they could just to be able to sit back down and eat.

I can't speak for the other staff members but the manager just really shocks me with his mannerisms; the look on his face is just so grim and miserable, I don't think this is appropriate for someone in customer service. Changes need to be made!

Anyway, at least the food is still great; with this I have no complaints, but it's a good thing, otherwise I'd never go back...
