Customer Complaint: Rudeness and Poor Service at Subway
I am writing to express my disappointment and frustration with the service I received at the Subway store located at [435 columbia street suite 100]. On [11/03/2025], I visited the store and ordered three footlong sandwiches. However, my experience was marred by the rude and unprofessional behavior of one of the staff members.
While modifying my order, I requested the associate to make some changes, which I have done numerous times at other Subway locations without issue. However, this associate displayed a dismissive and hostile attitude, making me feel like I was asking for a favor rather than receiving a service.
When I politely asked her to provide extra sauce, she became agitated and asked if she should charge me extra. I explained that in my past experiences at other Subway locations, I had always been provided with extra sauce without any issue. Her response was unacceptable, and her behavior was unprofessional.
I was also surprised to notice that the associate was not wearing her name tag, which made it difficult for me to identify her. However, I can describe her as a brown-skinned woman who wore glasses and had a chubby build.
I urge Subway to take immediate action to address this issue and ensure that customers receive the level of service they expect from the brand. I request that the company provide training to its staff on customer service and conflict resolution.
Furthermore, I hope that Subway will take steps to ensure that its staff members wear their name tags at all times, making it easier for customers to identify them and provide feedback.

Read moreI ordered a subway sandwich. I asked to use their washroom, and one staff member told me it's out of service.
The notice was also up on the door.
Moments later, a guy who was dressed in a regular attire asked if he could use the washroom. He was handed a key right away. I got up and asked the staff, is the notice invalid ?, and you guys are just picking and choosing on who can use the washroom?
One staff member told me, he is the plumber, and directed me to ask him. As soon as the guy stepped out, he returned the key. I asked him, "Are you the plumber?" He looked at me surprised, caught off guard, and simply replied "Yes".
Hence he had no tools on him, and spent less than 10 mins inside the washroom.
This is appauling, and absolutely discriminatory towards customers especially who bring service to this Franchise called SuBWay.
If for whatever reason, you don't want customers to use the washroom, just mention washroom is ONLY for STAFF, or simple remove the whole damn washroom.
Make your lives and valuable customers lives easier. But this picking and choosing is favourtism, and absolutely unwelcoming behaviour, and needs to be stopped !!!
If this location doesn't change for the better it might need some reporting especially if it doesn't provide any corrections of the staff members. Please FIX this washroom issue of your business, which has been going on for far way too long now. My order was placed through the subway website.
How it works, as explained by doordash is that because it's done by third party, they cannot refund us directly.
What they can do is take responsibility for the lost order. After which they send the refund to subway, and subsequently, subway is supposed to refund us.
However, this subway after being refunded by doordash and basically having 2x the value of the order originally placed.
Refused to refund me.
I tried to explain in detail to the girl working there how it works
Zero customer service skills at all on that woman. Refused to let me speak without cutting me off. Hung up on me. Told me that she knows best and wouldn't listen.
I was relatively kind up to this point, but the absolute gall and audacity of this person was truly something else.
We are considering legal action at this point.
And I say this with every ounce of my soul, this little girl should not be anywhere near a customer service job.
Zero manners whatsoever. Zero intelligence. Zero listening skills. Absolute embarrassment.
When you ask yourself why you work at subway and have done nothing with your life, remember this review.
Edit - also tried to explain that I've worked in the food industry for many years, I understand how doordash functions in regards to orders placed through other websites.
