We were visiting Burlington for the half marathon. Did some online research before going and found that Radius on Brant (with another location in Hamilton) were consistently very highly reviewed.
I made reservations online and was greeted warmly by Matt who I later became aware was a co-owner of this excellent establishment.
Brianna (Bri) was our server. She could NOT have been any more fabulous. She was/is friendly, helpful, attentive and professional.
Was very impressed with Matt also. I watched as he always helped and worked around his restaurant. This shows me that he is invested in his business and his staff by demonstrating he will also do the various tasks needed at the front of house to keep it running efficiently while taking care of his customers. Matt also checked in with patrons ensuring everything was good. It was in fact very very good.
I cannot say enough great things about Matt, Bri and other staff who I observed to be also stellar.
Now for the food.
Started with the stacked sushi. I’ve eaten a lot of sushi at various restaurant and also make my own Futomaki. This was very unique and imaginative. We LOVED it. I only wished there were 4 on the plate instead of 3! For the same price of course :) I was still talking about the sushi after we left. It had a delicate beautiful presentation with a crunchy bite all around the sides. Didn’t taste like your usual sushi rice mixed with rice vinegar. Matt told me they used Mirin(Japanese cooking wine). I will always order this whenever I return to Radius.
For lunch Entrees, we had the Vintage Breakfast and Smoked Salmon Playterie.
The Vintage Breakfast was a large portion and was very good. My wife commented the sour dough bread that came with this breakfast was amazing.
The Smoked Salmon Playterie was a lighter serving just as described by Matt and Bri. It was brilliant and that is coming from a person that likes latkes but wouldn’t say I love them. This I loved!
We also had delicious cocktails and a very nice Single malt whisky.
I was surprised there was only one stall for the men’s bathroom as I can see this place being very busy often as it was for lunch for our visit. The women’s apparently had two stalls and what was fantastic was there was an accessible washroom on the main floor which I missed but as I’m writing this, my wife mentioned it.
Thank you Bri, Matt and back of house staff for a memorable time at...

As a returning patron who has dined at your establishment on four occasions, I regret to share that my most recent experience has compelled me to discontinue my patronage. While two of my prior visits were satisfactory, the incident during my dinner on 7/3/25 revealed significant lapses in quality control and customer service that I cannot overlook. My partner and I ordered the 6oz steak, which arrived after an unreasonable 50-minute wait. Upon presentation, the portion size was shockingly inadequate—approximately 2 inches by 2 inches—and bore no resemblance to the dish I had previously enjoyed. The server placed the plate on the table without comment and promptly walked away, requiring us to flag her down to address the issue. After returning to the kitchen and consulting with the chef, she apologized and explained that a "new" staff member had mistakenly prepared an add-on portion instead of the entrée. This explanation, while offered in good faith, raises concerns. No member of the team verified the dish before serving it, and had I not recognized the error from prior experience, the mistake might never have been acknowledged. Though the staff offered to prepare a replacement, I declined, as waiting an additional 50 minutes (amid a visibly busier dining room) was impractical. Notably, no gesture of goodwill—a discount, compensation, or even a sincere apology—was extended to rectify the wasted time or subpar experience. This incident reflects poorly on both kitchen oversight and front-of-house accountability. For a restaurant of your caliber, such inconsistencies and lack of proactive resolution are unacceptable. While I acknowledge that training new staff is part of operations, ensuring quality and customer satisfaction should remain non-negotiable priorities. Regrettably, this experience has eroded my confidence in your...
Read moreI'll start by saying - it's all about expectations.
The look and feel here was great, but as soon as we stepped in the door there was a lovely woman singing, but she was quite loud and people in the restaurant were a bit rowdy as well. I couldn't hear my partner very well or have a proper conversation. I love live music, but feel like it needed to be softer to accommodate for people who came to listen to the music AND people who came for dinner and a conversation.
That said at the end of the day it's about expectations, and we didnt know that Wednesdays are "wine and music" nights.
Vibe was pretty good. Lovely decor and lighting. Cute date night space and the bar looked stocked. We didn't have any cocktails but they looked pretty good!
The food plates smaller than expected, especially for the price point, but we didn't mind.
The mains were pretty bland and disappointing, not much to phone home about. We had the calamari, burger, and Nobu inspired fish and chips. It was ok, definitely did not excite me to come for dinner again.
If you're looking for more of a chill dinner vibe with a unique menu and fantastic drinks at the same price point, I would choose Isabelle over this, or head down to Hamilton at Undefined or Caro.
I would visit again but probably just for drinks and an apps and listening to music or a DJ. I suggest checking their site to know what's happening a head of time so you know what you are...
